12" pyle was my first sub...

the box looks good,

i dont see a 45 in the corner by the port though, also i would have moved the subs farther over from the port

how is it with port firing right at the table LOL shouldve done port and subs fowrad man!

Then I would have had a long skinny port. Its a huge box i didnt want so much bracing. A whole large skinny port would lose strength if not braced.

I wanted enough port area. And the shelves are adjustable. But so far it sounds sweet. Too lazy to move things ATM.

I think having the port right under the shelf like that will choke it. Other than that, it looks like you took a couple of lemons and made some lemonade. Good job!

Its fine with choking because its a small set up. only 600 wrms and loud but not insane for us it beats the house down to the foundation tho

I wanted minimal bracing. The subwoofer screw far left drills directly into the port wall for added bracing. Its not a huge set up with hardly any power. I went with aesthetics over normal builds. I would have liked to do 45s but I had made my first cuts before finding out my circular saw does 45*s

I am wrapping this Parts Express jet black carpet. I think it will bring out the terminal wire and hardware at the bottom.

I got these $40 as a pair to the door. this was an ebay steal. Had MDF laying around. Amp laying around. Speakers laying around. Ultimate budget build only spent $40 of new stuff. The rest was laying around at the moment.

here are some pics

The top towers are The small cabinet speakers are

3 foot tall 100 WRMS 8 Ω

14.5" wide

and 10 " deep

100 WRMS 8 Ω

In parallel it means I can put 200 WRMS at 4 Ω per channel

The amp will put out 144 WRMS per channel, so it will not over load the speakers

screwing the sub into that doesnt really do any benefit for bracing,

and as long as you have a piece of scrap wood layin around you can cut a 45 for the corner and pop it in

Does it need a 45?

Its not like a bend in the port, more just a strait forward port.

That would end up changing my port tuning a lot I think. Right now its like a 16.5" long port

Adding a 45 would add the entire curve of the 45 and add like 2-3 inches to the port length

Right now I have a tuning of like 35 hz.

I guess it wouldnt change stats and things drastically

but I'm not carrying this bitch back downstairs to the garage again haha

It sounds great so I almost don't feel like touching the box anymore except for some jet black carpet

You better bet my box for my car will have all the extras.

When I get the honda back

Im probably throwing the P3s in a 4 ft3 ported box tuned to somwhere in the 30s

For that one I want to do glassed and 45 edges all around inside. Coat the inside and out with resin and all that. Probably a couple flared ports instead of a slot port like this one.

This was my first ported build so I just wanted to get it out of the way with the $40 pair of Pyles

how do you keep that battery charged? Just throwing this out there since it is a small amp if you have a desktop computer you could just hook it up to the power supply in that... I did that with my terminator 400 watt amp and it ran like a champ. nice setup tho, if I had room I'd do something like that too.
