iKidwell Posted September 2, 2010 Report Share Posted September 2, 2010 so i've already called up dc and gotten a quote on both the xl and the lvl 4, the xl isn't tons more than the lvl 4, but it is a little more, just wondering from anyone out there that has dc subs, whether lvl 4 or xl, or have had both, what the difference is, THIS IS IN REFERENCE TO THE 18's.. thanks. For starters you could run alot more power to the XL than the lvl4, also if weight is a concern the XL weighs just over 20 pounds more than the LVL4..... clouduz Posted September 2, 2010 Report Share Posted September 2, 2010 if the weight and price difference doesn't mean much definitely go for the XL. Even if your not running a ton of power at least you know you can get louder by adding more in the future and it will take it safely. You should be seeing around 1000 watts after rise which is dead on for the lvl 4. Team_DC-Derrick Posted September 2, 2010 Report Share Posted September 2, 2010 direct swap from level 4s to XLs the XLs were straight louder right out of the box.. they are beasty ass subs and can handle some abuse.. i loved mine, but if you are just starting out with the XLs you will move up pretty fast to the 5s or higher...
