JMZNeal
i saw a guy yesterday in my autobody class that was using a 14ga speaker wire for a ground.... but anyway 2 4ga would be better than one 2ga according to that program..... but 2 8's not double than one 4... but good link. you could run those 2 8's no prob just don't push it hard for very long or you might get a hot wire... flashlight_65
you can install the 8 gauge but dont try to press full power from that amp without risking the wire heating up and catching fire if you ignore the wire heating up. the most i personally will try to get from that amp is 300rms with the 8 gauge. but thats just me. 150x2 at 4 ohms will be fine. stick to a max of 150x2 at 2 ohms and 300x1 at 4 ohms (bridged). i would not go any higher than this due to safety reasons. ^^^this. if its already ran i don't see a problem to test it but if it isnt i would just wait til your 4 guage comes in Quote My builds: my caddy my 'hoe friends impala

Yeah, im tryin NOT to be that guy with the speaker wire ground ! But just due to my location it is hard to get some things , especially in a hurry ! and been waiting on this amp for a week and now i got it and want to test it out ! It will be doubling the power of my old amp so understand that im excited to get it hooked up ! Any other suggestions of where i might find this wire other than car audio shop ? Hardware or etc. ? And does anyone think i should go bigger than 4 gauge ? my wire runs all the way from engine compartment to my trunk .

anthonyott99
i think the biggest i can get at my local walmart is 5 gauge and it is in a kit with that gay capacitor, even though the capacitor has the volt gauge that i would like to have to keep an eye on my voltage, but i know everyone on here will make fun of my capacitor ! DynamikT
If you ask me, using two 8 awg wires are fine, i did that for a while and nothing happened, but for a permanent install its best to wait for your 4 awg wire. After all, all you are doing is just doubling the ammount of copper. Edited September 3, 2010 by DynamikT
Guest
so much misinformation. everyone on here just stop posting in this thread you're only making it more confusing. noone has an idea what they're talking about. to the OP, no need to drive 2 hours. i gave you a site in my previous post. go there and get all the wire and accessories you need, end of story. if you cant wait a week then theres no point in having a whole system. i waited 3 or so weeks for my new box to be built and had a sub sitting BNIB next to my bed. just wait you wont die...
