STEvil
http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=53322.0 Its 3am and i've been reading a few threads on this since about midnight.. the basic effect is that at low frequencies dampening factor of the amplifier is reduced to allow the spider(s) and surround of the driver to do their natural job. While this is more oriented towards SQ design and open baffle drivers, it may be an interesting concept to test on an SPL based system to produce more excursion (and in effect lessen clipping effects on the driver due to bypassing of dampening signals) at a tuned frequency. More excursion means more spl.. most of the time! Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through. Hammerdown... 1% no links to outside websites, business related FB/YT pages allowed. huh?do-what?
i suffered brain damage trying to read that page. ouch. Quote God damn its hot today. My balls are stuck to my leg.
mr.p
i have 4 mmats transformers that are change 4 ohm to 1.5 ish. Not sure how they work but they are magic would it be like having the circuit kick on at a set point and boost the output by lowering the impedance when it is at its highest? The circuit would have to "fade" in and out or else the woofer would just get nitrous in the middle of its stroke and toss softparts around right? ALPINE408
Lol spl is done at 50+ hz most of the time there is not much excursion at that range and don't think it will help or it would of been done already but try and see maybe it has not been tried Quote Have you ever had your woofers blown? Yes, the circuit operates at the frequency you tune it to.
