AA98hoe
The directions are brief but i checked and for 12v it says 5 only on. i mounted mine in my overhead console also. is there any way that by extending the wires ( i had my partner do it for me and he did a nice solder job and sleeve install) it mite of messed something up? plus i have it hooked up to my acc wire at my main harness does it have to be true ignition or am i ok? I value your advice hhr ed let me know Quote TEAM DC AUDIO VEHICLE:98 chevy tahoe 2wd 3-4 drop HEADUNIT:alpine 9886 PREAMP:arcaudio FRONT STAGE:4-6 1/2s selinium,DD component set and 4-selinium tweeters in each door KICKPANELS:jl audio 5 1/4 REAR DOORS: dd components 6 1/2s HIGHS AMPS:zapco 750.2 on front doors, zapco an another 750.2 on kicks and rear doors SUBS:4-ascendant audio 18s with 5 spiders in a custom box built by KINGSUV SUB AMP: 2-dc7.5s ALTERNATORS: 3-mechmans 1- 425comp, 1-smd spec350, 1-270 with adj voltage harness on custom dc bracket WIRE:10-runs 0g front to back BATTERIES:6-d1400s TL results:157.1 at 38hz and 156.8 at headrest score @37hz. Benji0687
Hey Ed, just a quick question I was wondering about. Why the difference in voltages between both displays? Alt charge and back batts? Steffie
Hi This is Ed's Girl Friend. Extending the wires to the VCM didnt change anything since they are basically just power. Any voltage drop from a few extra feet is minimal. But It should be on true ignition since some cars have ACC that can shut off. The 12v setting for the VCM dip switches have a limit of how high it will go, and you may be at that limit, I am not sure what it is. But it does take a few pushes of the arrows to get it to move, so keep pushing it. The settings must be changed with the car running and amps turned off. Also, for the above picture, one meter shows the rear batteries of the vehicle (20 D1400s) And the VCM meter is the alternator setting. Nathan @ XSpower
Were the 3 Alts working before you hooked the VCM up? The VCM can not be used to power all of the alts. It only works to control all of the alts. Is this on a 12V system?
