Tek
Is there a reason for this? In the setup Im doing thats all I have room for and it makes me skeptical

skittlesRgood
because we tested port forward and it is rarely the best option. Tek
is the difference really gonna be that drastic? And is port forward atleast better than port back with no space between the port and the back hatch?
skittlesRgood
choking the port against a wall is a horrible idea so you are correct in staying away from doing it. can you do port and sub up? or maybe make the box taller but not as deep so you can fire the port back? yes, it does make a big difference but if its all you can do then its all you can do. Tek
can you do port and sub up? I can, absoultely. However, I heard that if you do port up, than bending the port is a bad idea. Is that true? If not than Im good to go.
Eric B
Typically firing the ports to the rear is louder unless you have a trunk and seal your enclosure off firing forward..Its not always the case but typically the port forward is not as loud Subs back or up with port to side is pretty loud in a trunk. Also in SUV's from my testing. Gives you a good solid wall that wont lose energy compared to the trunk hatch itself where you could loose TONS of energy. Side port firing from my testing also gives you SOLID lows Quote 2007 Chevy HHR LT UNDER CONSTRUCTION 1st Place Loud N Low 2010 MWSPL Finals 3rd Place Xtreme 3 2010 MWSPL Finals
CaptainzPlanetz
I have s 15" XL firing into the cabin in my Grand Am......It is better than it was firing toward the trunk lid, since the box just barely fits in the trunk(had to take off tail lights to get it to fit...)so it was blocking the majority of the air coming into the cabin, so I 180'd the box and made a trim panel to seal it off from the trunk, and now its louder...
