CJ18 Posted September 22, 2010 Author Report Posted September 22, 2010 Im gonna stir the pot here a bit. I just got 2 DC 8s ordered that will ship today with the level 5s. Should I give them 10k and see what they will do too....haha i can just see them blowing up right now. But for real they should do nice for midbass in the center console (when I get around to building it). But for the mean time they are going in the trunk of a 2009 nissan maxima on a JL 1000.1 Now on to those of yall who are bitching about the test being unfair because the LVL 5 is 2000 RMS and the SMD is 3500 RMS and that it isnt fair because one will being pushed harder and closer to its limit than the other. I have a very easy way to solve this issue. Here is where the true beauty of the Warhorse comes out. I can adjust the power output anywhere from 1000w all the way up to 10000w in 500w increments. So be fair, each sub will be tested as its RMS power handling. Then just for fun tested at 5k per sub and see which gains more. Just figured that should give yall more to argue over.

Did a 149.91 legal this morning. I just got a line driver so I am about to install it and see what difference there is going from 2v preouts from my HU up to 5-7. More to come later.

This made a big difference. I will post a pic of the TL screen later but when I tested this morning its was a 149.16 at 40hz with 14.6 volts. The test I just did with the line driver installed was a 149.76 at 40hz with 13.7 volts. Big difference for one small change. I will play with the line driver later and see if my amp goes into protect with anything over 5 volts.
