Noob in search of pro advise/help!!!!

Recommended Posts

First off I have to say that all of the rides and installs here kick MAJOR @$$!! I've been searching through the threads and all I can say is WOW.

If you can't tell by the title of the thread I'M A COMPLETE NOOB and I'm not ashamed to say it,LOL :noob: .

Well heres my situation,I'm pushin' a 02 Yukon and started adding some mods.I'm up to the system now and plan on putting in a pretty decent one,but that will come later on (again with the help of the forum B) ).However I do want to add something for now while I research the equpt that I plan on buying for later.

I would like some advise and suggestions on what equpt. to get for now.

I want to upgrading all the factory speakers by basically taking out the old and inserting the new,and need advise on which ones to get.

I would also like some suggestions on Amps.I want to get Rockfords but I'm not sure which to go with. The amps I get now will also be used when I upgrade again later on.It would be GREAT to get somewhere in the neighborhood of 1000+ watts (if possible) for now by just replacing the factories and perhaps a VERY SMALL enclosure for a bit of "Boom",I'm not really after Bass at this time,I'm looking for Loud,CLEAR,Clean.

I'm rollin on a budget of about $2500+ for this project and really value the opinions of this forum so any advise on which Speakers,Amps,Wire gauges, and ANYTHING else you guys think I may need to make this happen will be GREATLY appreciated.

That will total up to $2351.74

That would be a really nice setup, of course this is just an idea of what is possible. There are really to many variables on what to mix and match and there is a lot of good vendors on this forum that can help you out also.

WOW that was quick!! THANK YOU!!!

So far I THINK we MAY have a winner with the Rockford T1000-4 amp and T-1500.As for the speakers (Not the subs) as silly as this sounds I'm gona ask it anyway (I told ya' NOOOOOOB) should I stay away from Pioneers?

Personally,I was checking out the Rockford speakers (Not sure which ones yet) but although the dealer that I've been going carries the T1000 amp I haven't seen the RF speakers and he's been trying to sell me Pioneers.I'm sure he can get the RF's if I ask but I was just wondering about the Pioneers.

ALSO,with the T1000,I've heard that it's pretty power hungry (is this true??) if so is it something that will put a strain on my battery/Alt?

I don't want to be driving around with my lights dimming out,LOL.

Any other suggestions on different speakers to replace the OEM's that can handle the T1000-4,any other things I may need to make this sound loud and CRYSTAL? ANYTHING???

THANKS AGAIN!!!!

I think Hotdog is on the right track here. You can call it six or a half dozen; meaning you can use all kinds of different things that are similiar or whatever. But that being said, this is a legitimate idea that he obviously spent some time on figuring up. It's a great baseplan to think around and stuff imo.

I used to run four RFosgate 12's rated 400rms each on a punch 1500, and I blew a few subs as I hammered for extended periods; so I would use a little bit of caution (or common sense) with the bass. This was in the past and I realize the current models will be somehow different.

Bottom line, sounds like a fun delimna to have! Good luck on the build.

ANY other suggestions of stuff I should consider? I plan on starting to buying the stuff within a month or so.

BTW,I forgot to mention that I already have a Head Unit.I'm using a Pioneer 4200DVD.

Just wanted to give MAD props to Hotdog for the GREAT list of Equipt. I just ordered the T-1500 as well as the T1d412 Subs from Amazon and used a code I got for 30% off :good: .

Not sure if you guys know but if you enter NI8XLWQW at checkout when buying Rockford stuff DIRECTLY FROM THEM,you'll get 30% off. This offer was extended to those that missed the 50% offer and it expires Oct 2.

Hope it helps someone else out.

Anyhow,I plan on getting the rest of my stuff soon and had another question.

As for the componants, hows about if I go with the T2652-S 400 watt instead of the T252-S 300 watt? Is there any difference between the 2 besides the wattage? Also does anyone know if Steve still makes boxes for sale?

Yes one is a 6 1/2" Speaker and the other is a 5 1/4" Speaker

I think your Yukon takes 5 1/4"
