Krazykid122
I was wondering before i decided on what amp i wanted to buy, could my BTL take 2600 RMS daily? i am debating on what i want to do, i want to buy a AQ2200d and then again i want to get a AQ3500.1 because i will eventually upgrade to 2 BTL 18s or i could get another AQ2200d and strap them, i dunno what to do, anyone got some ideas? Beanz
Yes it can take it just make sure you have your gains set right nad not clip them and you'll be set man those things are known to take 4000 if set right man Quote That's why they don't deliver. Yer ass better go sit along the side of the road and wait. You can't expect them to travel up some dirt road in a hick / back woods town. Thats how horror movies start I explain things very simply and use analogies in terms of Pickles, and grape drink, pool noodles and jackhammers...if you can't put 2 and 2 together there man, There simply is not much more I can do. hdorre
Yes, it can take 2.6kwrms. As Beanz said, easy with the gains. Eric B
You can get away with a BTL on a AQ 2200 (never seen one put out 2600) in a 10 cube box lol seen it done, and worked pretty good. Got his 150 on 2k clamped watts at 42hz. Try doubling that. Did you mean to type 15" BTL? bassl0va
Yeah, 4.5 is way too small for a BTL 18. Go for 8, infact, it may possibly work in the 10 cube one you have now? Krazykid122
Nahh nahh I said 18 (eighteen) BTL, 4.5 cubes is small, BUT that monster will get nasty if I tune the amp right, if not, imma have to order a recone >.< Here's what Scott said... It will get loud. Definitely make sure that your subsonic filter is set 2-4 Hz below tuning and that you do not have the bass boost on with the amp or the headunit. Setting things up correct will definitely help the subs life expectancy. tejcurrent
I was happy with every enclosure I used with my BTLs in the 5-8 ft range, but once I went down around 4.5 I had issues for daily use. Stick to the 5+ft recommendations and you should be fine. With the power you're using I'd lean towards a larger box.
