I have a bit of a conundrum here. I am building a box for two 12s for a friend, he wants it tuned to 32hz, and I want about 45 square inches of port. the box will be 24 inches deep, and one port would be either 30x1.5 and 21 inches long, the other would be 14.5X3 and 25 inches long. I want to do it subs forward port forward, but in doing so the 14.5x3 port would need to turn, and i want it in the middle, so it's a no-go. Or I could do two 14.5x1.5 ports, one on each side.

I guess my question is what port would you prefer?

30.5x1.5

subsforwardportside.jpg

14.5x3

two ports, each 14.5x1.5

I know can figure it out, but I just want some input from more experienced members for future reference.

I don't like the last picture. It's too thin for me..maybe some port noise will come

idk if that would be an issue being that there are two ports though, but i'm not sure.

I thought about that too, but you don't see too many people with multiple thin ports..you see one big one

the bottom pic would take a bit of wood and more precision since your doing 2 ports. thats all i can really input other than my opinion of just the one big port at the side

im pretty sure you can port it down the middle and make it slip to each side in the back but i may be wrong.

Quality is all in how you take pictures ;) I have plenty of projects that look WAY better on camera then in person :D

crazy to fit so many in so little. Reminds me of some of the porns I've seen?

Yeah, I'm leaning to one port on the side, but I don't like how that looks, but i am just curious as to whether or not there is a difference in sound quality or how much air it moves.

Single side port on drivers side

That's what i'm thinking, I'm just not into the way it looks, but I guess you can't always have it all, lol.

I want it to be a common chamber box, and that would split the box into two chambers.
