Guest
needs more port area. 90% of the threads i see about this calc dont have enough port area. make ports bigger or make more of them or a combo. edit: the port area range and port area numbers are there for a reason. Alex K
^ yup. I hear its 9-13 sq inches per ft when using precision ports. Quote 2006 Nissan Z Track. Sammitch0
Mhm and trust me it makes all the difference before I was tuning my boxes @ about 9cubic inches per cubic foot and now I do it @ 12 and the lows hit a lot harder. Skullz
WHOA...thats a huge box for 2 12's - 9.34cf gross is way too much for those subs. Shrink that box a bit and then use a guide of 9 to 12 sq in of port for it if using round pvc pipe. Skullz
You don't need a box that large for a pair of 12's, you could do something more like this. Quote 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2

bassl0va
this better? Nope, try to get the port area number between the port area range numbers. BTW: no need to tune so low. Skullz
If everyone would have noticed his drawing is for a much larger enclosure and what he has input into the calculator is totally wrong, box would be 20x43x27 with a notch out of the bottom. So if we went and input just the size with no notch he has 11.33cf and with about 1cf for the notch he still has around 10cf of box space which is way too big for those 12's EDIT: See pic #2 in the original post. EDIT2: Use something like i posted and just make a shelf for the box to sit on and set your back batteries or amps under the shelf.
