The ipod is direct connect to the alpine and the carputer is hooked up to the Aux-in on the Alpine. Like i said, the carputer (and ipod) are both "sources" and the Alpine takes care of the rest from there. thanks! The carputer will have an accesable USB port if we need to add anything or install programs......i wasnt really wanting to mount a carputer dvd drive in this thing. I have a external one that i WAS using but i took it out. If anything from a dvd needs to be installed, i will just plug in the external dvd, handle it, then take it back out. This is a sound-machine, not a weekender with the kids....watching movies arent a priority but it will do it. Also, with Itunes installed, he can get all his music on the harddrive and he wont even need an ipod if he doesnt feel like using it. Today is so F#$king windy outside i dont even want to go out there. The wind whipping my tarps (that hang by my work area) and my banners gets on my last nerves. Its hard to focus that way.
