Not top of the line Subwoofers

Hey there guys,

So I've learned a few things with the time I've been on this forum. One of those things is that the sound you get is by the money you spend. Well, for me, I am a little bit younger (16), and I don't have a job yet. I know SOME of you guys will say "If you don't have a job, don't make this your hobby" or "Just wait until you get a job and can actually afford subwoofers". Well, that's beyond the point, the reason why I posted this was because I was ORIGINALLY going to purchase two 15" Fi SSD's running on an AQ2200. Well, that set-up seems a little to expensive for my first set-up because I have to buy an alt, and all of that. I was just wondering, could I go to my local music store and purchase some subs off of there? For example, CVR Kickers? Or some kind of subs like those. Because right now, I don't have $1,200 to spend on my 1st set-up. So, might as well just get some REGULAR sounding 2 15's running like 2 - 2.6k watts on a stock alt. Any suggestions on any kind of subs or feedback on the idea? And please don't leave remarks on how stupid this post is or any of that, because I know its a stupid question, I'm just a teenager seeking help in this new hobby of mine. Thank you.

why do you HAVE to buy a alt, its recromended but not required, im running 10kw off a stock alt, i have 10 batteries, but its a stock 100 amp alt, alternators get you to 14.5v etc but batteries halp you stay above 12-13v

Alt definitely recommended, not required for 2200. an extra battery will do. but what car and what budget?

Early on this year, I did a post said "Alternators" and I wrote "Do I ABSOLUTELY need an Alt running 2.6k on 2 15's. Can't I just get batteries" And everyone said "You absolutely need an alternator" . So thats why I said that. And plus people say buying batteries is a waste of money. But who knows? But besides that, the main question is, it's my 1st system. I'm 16. I don't have alot of money. I could probably get around 800$. Should I just go with some subs from my local shop (Of course no no-name subs, but something like kickers or something) instead of buying 2 15's. Cause each Fi = 300$ + Amp = 900$ ish. + HU = $1000. Etc etc. So yeah

I know how you feel. I'm only 3 years older than you. I dont have a good paying job but I get by. Got a couple of questions.

1: What are you looking to spend? There are plenty of options out there for almost any budget.

2: What vehicle is it going into and what kind of space can you use?

I say go for it. Everybody had to start somewhere with less than favorable products(unless they are rich lol). There is nothing wrong with buying store brand stuff like Kicker and Pioneer if thats what you can afford for now. I ran kicker subs for years before I got into more expensive stuff.

Build your system one piece at a time and make improvements when you HAVE to not just because others did it.

To stay super cheap but really good bang for dollar, I recommend two pioneer championships on an AQ1200. For little money it is beautiful! And depending on the vehicle, the big 3 will suffice. Maybe just upgrade the battery under the hood

take your time save money and learn all you can, that's the best you can do. If you can't do that go with kicker pioneer or whatever, IMO all those brands are about the same but you will still be looking close to 1200 depending on what you already have.

buy an audiopipe ap1500 like 150 and a 15" or 18" ssd. and you should be more than happy, you could even save the money and get the ap1000 or whatever it is instead of the 1500, but if u have the 1500 u could eventually upgrade to two ssd's and still have the power. just a suggestion. you could also look into the audioque sdc2.5 series subs, they are really cheap and great bang for you buck. I just suggest the audiopipe amps,ap line because they do rated and do hold up, and are cheap. With only 1500 watts to, you shouldn't need to worry about an alt or anything else, at the most maybe throw as big of battery as u can in the front, but thats not even a must. if you start off with one sub and work your way up, you'll have the gain turned down anyways so wouldn't be killing your electrical. you can look at the audioques' @ www.audioque.com good luck with everything man.

Car: 04-05 Honda accord MOST LIKELY. Like 90% chance thats the car
