superdave07 Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 Just wondering, my sub woofers are dual 4ohm woofers. if i check them at the terminals they read a perfect .4 per side. wired in parallel, at the amp they are resting at 3ohm per sub. shouldn't these be at 2ohm? i know the wire is going to add some resistance, but that much? wire is only 26" from sub to amp... any ideas? skittlesRgood Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 well 1st off, this isnt about impedance because impedance is AC resistance. the wire isnt going to give you 1ohm resistance. I would look at the connections. if there is no way to improve them, look at the meter itself and how you are connecting the probes. superdave07 Posted October 23, 2010 Author Report Posted October 23, 2010 I hadnt thought of the connection on the meter. Its a snap-on meter so id hope its not a total pos. Yes my first test was still connected at the amp. When i test the wires from the subs without the amp connected, its reading 2.8 at the wires.
