Almost no bass after new install?

Hi,

My first system was a single kicker 12" L5 on 400w @ 2ohm. it did a decent job. Now i upgraded to single DD3515e 2 ohm DVC on RF 1500bd @ 1 ohm and expected way better, but it dosnt move much almost no bass, the kicker sub did better... so something is waaaaaay off. i oscoped my amp at clipp free volume at 55 on my Pioneer P88RS-II when i turn it to vol 55 it starts to move but gives not enough bass. Below vol 55 the sub dosnt move at all just a slight bit of bass comes you can hear it a bit.

I've tripple checked the sub wiring and nothing seems to be wrong. I've grounded the amp many diffrent places in the trunk (nearly begins to look like swizz cheese now after grinding to much paint off) nothing seems to work.

I noticed when i play 40hz 0db tone, some sparkling sounds or "buzzing" comes from the RCA output on the amp. so it must be something wrong with the RCA outputs on the amp or HU.

Done the big 3, still stock battery and alt. but voltage at idle 14.8 - 15v and when i turn the volume to 55 it drops to 13.4v but it dosnt give much bass at all. I've checked the sub if it was blown or something, but it isnt.

Just hope the amp is not damaged :S Wiring is 0 gauge and 4 gauge to the amp...

Check the phase on the amp. Try new rca's.

You can also rule out the deck by hooking up an Ipod or MP3 player directly to the amp and see if you get more output. Use a headphone to RCA adapter cable.

Just went out and tried, but it didnt seem to give much more output, Going to try my bro's amp and see. might be the amp that is damaged :< it feels like so little power get to the sub or something...

Any type of noise coming from the amp other than whats coming from the sub isn't a good sign and sounds like the amp is damaged in some way.

EDIT: Another thing, make sure the subwoofer output is at max level at the H/U and not somewhere in between 0 and max.

sub output at H/U at max didnt give to much output. But going to test my bros amp later on. I dont know if the amp is grounding trough the RCA's might give symptoms like this?

just try your brothers amp..

i had some real cheap rca's, like schoche or whatever, and some rockford fosgate and the rockford busted on me and ive head the scoche's forever, but it was like a horrible noise, like tapping on a microphone and thats all i had.

try your subsonic filter, lpf, turn your bass boost off, and turn the gain or level up. if it doesnt work then, try your bros amp, or go swap your rca's with his
