OrionStang
On my runs of 1/0 from front battery to the rear bank, have a 300 amp fuse 6 inches from the front one. There is absolutely no place, how I ran it, that the wire comes near any bolts, screws, sharp corners, or any other place it could short. Is it still necessary to put a 2nd fuse before the rear battery bank? Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread

If its not fused on BOTH ends, you have a fire on your hands instead of some body damage. bobonit
Its just a safety thing to be honest Exactly the point I was trying to make. Damn, way to think outside the box. That scenario makes VERY necessary, I would say. Yeah, especially in a wreck. Thanks guys. I hadn't thought about that way until one day someone I worked with was looking at my bus bars (which are in the rear of my trunk) and said "What if someone rearends you"? I was like Damn, now I have to get 5 more fuse holders. But it will be worth it for my piece of mind. I still have to do that, you just reminded me Thanks! General
Remember, the fuses are ONLY to secure the CABLE. With batteries at both sides you need to secure the cable at both sides! AMI CUSTOMS
And if you have voltage drop problems, as the voltage drops, the current goes up, if you are fused you cant burn the wire up, and this is if you are running like 4k size amps, if it is a daily vehicle it is a really good idea to be fused at both ends between the batteries. OrionStang
Got another similar question. The power wire from the battery to the amp is only about 11 inches, think I should fuse that? The "x" is about where the positive terminal is. I've got 3/0 and a 500 amp fuse for this run.
