So the first thing to do is make sure that your trunk doesn't rattle AT ALL when the bass is playing (even at higher pressure levels.) As for the port area, most people use far too little when using aeros for some reason. Instead of using the 12-16 sq. inches of port per cube rule. You should base you're required area off the peak to peak linear excursion of the driver and the total cone area. That is the volume of air the woofer displaces during a cycle. Also the lower you tune the less area you need due to decreased cone velocity and thus a lower volume of air trying to evacuate the port when the diaphragm moves.. How do we do this?

This formula relates the tuning frequency of the box, and the volume your woofer displaces during a cycle to the minimum port diameter you should use. It looks like it was derived through an applied max/min scenario based in calculus. Plug and chug niqqas.

You wall at the trunk opening, strip your rear deck / completely seal it, seal any passages to the trunk with e-foam, and use more port than you think you need. And by port I mean AERO PORT mwaahahaha Its really hard to get loud in the trunk World record i believe is 155dB with over 10kw. also all those mods would probably put you in Extreme class where peeps are doing ehh 160's+ heres my trunk. see look pic, hardest think to do since sliced bread.
