Difference in TermLab from 2001 to now?

At the last Nspl event in High Point Fred pulled out his old TL. The difference from old the new was 2.4-4.4db depending on the setup.

With the current subs on the market and current technology, ported is as good if not better musically. I lol at the sealed is better statement for musical every day. That's old school info, I was there then too. Even in high end home audio, the $10k to $40$+ pairs of speakers are ported.

A pair of Havocs are going to hard to get a 150 in a trunk car, but possible.

This is a question for anyone that still competes.

Last time I competed in DB drag was in 2001-2002.

Has there been any changes in the TermLab software or the Mic's being used since then?

I am asking because I was hitting 147.6 with 2 12's and 1800 watts back then.

I would like to hit 150+ with the new system I am planning. However the sub section of the new system will be based on 2 15's.

I just need to know if I need to throw more power at this to hit the #'s I want to hit.

Pre-2003 Db Drag and other organizations use a condensor mic based SPL sensor. dB Drag's system was known as Term Pro.

By dB Drag Finals of 2003 the dB Drag's Term Lab system was introduced and still in use today. This is a sensor based system that is much more reliable and accurate than the old system.

In most scenerios, the new Term Lab has been known to read on average of 6-7 dB lower than the old mic based system.
