BigBodyChevy Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 Working on rebuilding my Buddy's Nissan 2 15 inch MTX 9500's and a rockford T3000.1BD all going into a Nissan. my cheap ass table saw and cross cut sled. This was our first attempt at building a ported box, I am an SQ man and stick to sealed atleast I have in every car I have ever owned untill now. he wants SPL so we went ported working on the 45's. The top had to be glued and screwed from inside the trunk, for both cubic feet reasons and security. Looking at the top seal while inside the trunk using my camera to get ir done still need to paint and carpet and let dry for 24 hours. more pics when project is complete On to the amp rack That is it for progress up till now. speaker terminal post's should arrive tommorrow will update asap. Wont be the first time carpeting something in the trunk, Just need to cover both sides top and back, the front false face will be painted, to color match the car. BigBodyChevy Posted October 30, 2010 Author Report Posted October 30, 2010 Update today's progress was delayed by repair to my water heater but, subs mounted and amp rack mounted as well as a few pics. The Whip (note the garden hose running out the garage as I drained the water heater.) Wireing up the subs and binding posts. (box to be finished later after a short break in to test the Tune.) Amp rack mounted! owner of the build wearing a funny hat cuz its cold and close to midnight! Rear fire wall back in, and a glimpse of the amp thru the rear seat pass thru. Thats all for now, hope to get the wiring work and video of it running tommorrow! Stupid water heater slowing up progress. Several trips to Lowes, and Autozone today while trying to remove the lower element. P.S. I won the war with the bottom heating element in my water heater. Although we had several casility's in the process. I guess thats what I get for being a spoiled renter most my life. Home maintenance schedules are your friend. Thanks I didnt think it was that bad for a first attempt at a ported enclosure. Of course years of building sealed enclosures helped. Of course years of building sealed enclosures helped. i hear that! i have done to many installs in peoples cars that are not the most intelligent so sealed is a good fail safe. so much to the point i feel less smart from all the years! LOL i just started box tuning around a year ago. so much stuff to relearn and build! i dig the amp mount. having any heating issues with it? NEUMAN
