Just for you LOL Hey man we all can be off our game at times, I haven't researched wire in several years, I use just one brand auto cable, it works, so I use it, several years ago I seen a guys truck almost burn down going to a show with welding wire under the hood, the jacket was completely gone on one whole half of the cable. Did he get some cheap shit, probably, just something I seen, made me laugh then,,,,so I continued the trend. I've seen a connection sit in a puddle and boil the water away, and still be just like new... I've seen conditions so hot it would make you quit, and so cold your nuts would shrivel... Point is, welding cable is some badass shit... If you come across like a dick, and people are gonna think you're a dick... Or idiot... What does slag have to do with welding leads? I've been doing this for about 8 years now, and seen leads take more abuse than any "Automotive Grade" wire... Now, with anything, you get what you pay for... LOL... Sorry, had to... I wonder If UL products are any good? Not saying all welding cable is UL listed, but THIS is, and read all the neat shit about their welding cable... Some really cool shit... He can laugh at me, but I'm still louder... Its all good, but don't think you're gonna come in here and just say shit and people are gonna take it as gospel... Yup been there, I have only done 2 in my sierra, first one what a tester build just to find the peak it got loud at, second was the wall. Next just gonna add some more power!!!! Last time I checked, rubber is an oil based product, therefore oil and rubber go together great. Last time I checked, it's known that rubber degrades in the sunlight after years and years, example being tires. But I'll take your word on it, just because you seem like a pretty smart guy. Just for the record, almost nobody actually uses rubber anymore. It is toxic to produce and just falls apart after a short time compared to man made rubber counterparts.
