A/C pump is easy, just unbolt the top two lines on the pump, then drain the coolant from the line. the line fell like a bitch at first to come off be thats becasue they're reverse threading

the bad part about taking off the a/c is the amount of money ypu gotta spend for the coolant recharge.

So here's a little update, I was able to get the control arm and spindle off one one side. I would have done both sides, but I have a huge exam tomorrow and I have to study for that first.

The lower control arms and spindles are being sand blasted and painted. The upper control arms, bushings, and Steering ball joint assembly is being upgraded and replaced. :)

YES IT'S MESSY!! I definitely have to do a cleanup after this one, there's just so much grease and crap on the ball joints you can't help getting dirty

Here's what it looked like just before I started on the control arms

I know this isn't really anything related to the audio install, so just bear with me... I'm getting this out of the way so I don't have to worry about it after I install everything

Looks good. Only thing I see wrong from the pics is it looks like u painted the driveshaft yoke. Maybe its just painted tape on there.

?? Umm nope, haven't painted anything yet, I do have tape on a couple things for labeling but that's about it.

Can't wait to see the engine bay finished. Definitely hard to make an efi and abs equipped vehicle have a nice engine bay. If it were me, although its kinda the easy way out, convert to carb and abs delete.. lol. Can't wait to see what ya do. keep up the good word.

thanks man I appreciate it. My goal is to just make it look as clean as possible while not deleting any of the stock components like the A/C or things like that. I mean of course its cool being able to have an engine bay with a lot of room because the deletion of some of the components, but the main theme behind my truck is functionality.. being able to have all this stuff in it while still having the functionality of a daily driver... well a daily driver minus the cargo room lol

What he is saying is in two of the pics on the first page it looks like you painted the yoke of the driveshaft with por 15 and it shouldn't be painted.

Truck looks great man! Keep up the good work!

On a side note, the correct way to pull an AC pump is to drain the stuff inside, wether it be r12 or r134a or whatever, with a machine. Just pulling it and letting it out into the atmosphere could actually get you fined pretty heavily. Just an FYI. :drinks:

i resolve to be a nicer moderator.
