dmanson
When I get the money and find someone to buy my Crescendo, I am looking to be going with two AP3K's. Two AP 3K's: $600.00 AQ3500d: $749.00 i you know i really wanted to try the AQ3500 but looking at the prices onthe AP3ks, hell i can save $150 or so and i'm sure i can find a maxxlink for less than that so for the price of an AQ3500.1 i can get two AP3ks and a maxxlink ..........hmmm, not bad. we shall see how this plays out. Until i get the 2 AP3ks i'll be breaking the XL18s in with my DC30001 amp. 2-DC 15XLM2 D.7s 1-DC 5K amp (1) XS Power D6500(UNDERHOOD) and (1) XS3000(REAR) 3 runs 1/0ga for power and 2 runs of 1/0ga for negative. (2)-RFT165s components, ...... 4 separate 1 inch tweetersRF T600-2(fronts) Punch 450.4(rear) Audiocontrol 3.1. DC power 260amp alternator w/MLA Module
dmanson
Well I'll have to wait and call audiopipe and see if I can even run two AP3ks with the maxxlink, that's my last dilemna. I'd like to get my halnds on that new DC5k amp as I already have the DC pai3000.1. 2-DC 15XLM2 D.7s 1-DC 5K amp (1) XS Power D6500(UNDERHOOD) and (1) XS3000(REAR) 3 runs 1/0ga for power and 2 runs of 1/0ga for negative. EricR
Why not run two aq2200's??? They will do 3k with what you are wanting to do. this...much better than those APs Agreed i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work? Autruche
yeh but i'd have to run each AQ2200 either at .35 or 1.4 and i'm sure that .35 is a NO NO. i wouldn't get the full 2200rms with 1.4 seeing i'm trying to give each sub near 3k each. even with having two Aq22000 strapped the minimum load would be 2 ohms. and i can run both D.7 subs as high as 2.8 and then again with imp rise i might not even see that 4400rms out of both AQ22K strapped. dang i hate the AP3ks can't be strapped, i really don't want to fool with two bass knobs. my only reason for going with the AP3ks is because of the price and good review i've heard on them, two AP3ks is less than the AQ3500.1 or two AQ2200s. I was set on spending $750 on that AQ3500.1 but if i can get more power else where then i'll do so. Bass boost knob = no no. Get an RCA level controller, you can control however many amps you can hook up with one cuz it controls the preamp voltage instead of the amps settings. Need Test Tones/Sine Waves? dmanson
Well I wanted to stay around 800 on a good amp or two, the AP3ks came into play with the prices and power they put out. I if I run two amps each amp will have to run at 1.4 ohms or strapped for 2.8. I'd like to stay as low as possible in price as I have to add more highs and mids too. So I'm looking to do at least 5000rms but would love 6000rms. But I'd want to stick around 800 dollas. Two AP3ks for 600 don't sound bad, just gotta figure if they'd work with the maxxlink now. 2-DC 15XLM2 D.7s 1-DC 5K amp (1) XS Power D6500(UNDERHOOD) and (1) XS3000(REAR) 3 runs 1/0ga for power and 2 runs of 1/0ga for negative. dmanson
Yeh I could do it like that but I love having that bass knob, just to to adjust it a lil when I pull up. Anyways I just ordered a DC5k, so til that comes in I'll be breaking the XLs in with my DC30001, running at .7 ohms and at 15.3 volts. 2-DC 15XLM2 D.7s 1-DC 5K amp (1) XS Power D6500(UNDERHOOD) and (1) XS3000(REAR) 3 runs 1/0ga for power and 2 runs of 1/0ga for negative. Robert8252
Didn't read everything but AQ3500 all day over audiopipe. IMO the AP would be a downgrade to your DC3000.
