dmanson Posted November 16, 2010 Report Share Posted November 16, 2010 Well after finally deciding to go with two lvl4XL 18s (received them also ....... .7s) i'm in a debate on which amp to go with to power these things, don't really have a lot of money to blow and i was considering the AQ3500.1. now i'm thinking about two Audiopipe 3ks seeing i can run each amp at 1.4 and of course there will me imp rise. i'm not a big fan of the AP amps, but i wont knock them til i try them. if i can at least see 2500rms out of each amp i'll be happy. Let me know what you guys think. 2-DC 15XLM2 D.7s 1-DC 5K amp (1) XS Power D6500(UNDERHOOD) and (1) XS3000(REAR) 3 runs 1/0ga for power and 2 runs of 1/0ga for negative. After reading reviews people are getting 4500+ out of theres on a good electrical system. skittlesRgood Posted November 16, 2010 Report Share Posted November 16, 2010 well... if we guess 3x imp rise (talking burps here) the AQ will rise to 2.1ohm and the AP will rise to 4.2ohm. both doubles the resistance from where each amp was rated so they should, in theory, do half power. so from the two APs you would see 3000w (1500each) and the AQ would do 1750w, maybe up to 2000w. After reading reviews people are getting 4500+ out of theres on a good electrical system. well i got the D.7 subs and my 1st plan was to wire the AQ3500.1D to .7 ohms seeing i'd see an Imp rise. but of course with 4300rms @ 14.4 volts each sub will see 2150rms each and i'm not concerned about voltage seeing i have a DC power 260 amp alt with two batteries and two runs of 1/0, also i'll be looking for a dual bracket to install my other DC power 260 amp alt so voltage isn't a problem and i sit at 15.3 all day with my MLA. my idea with running both AP3ks was more power for the price ofone AQ3500.1. after talking with one of the audiopipe tells on their 1-877 number, the AP3k(s) can't be bridged and i hate to run two amps not be bridged to two subs that'll be sharing the same chamber. so i gotta figure this thing out .......... i might have to build a two chamber box and risk running each AP3k at 1.4 ohms, i'd really like to give each sub close to 3k is possible vs only 2200. thanks fellas. 2-DC 15XLM2 D.7s 1-DC 5K amp (1) XS Power D6500(UNDERHOOD) and (1) XS3000(REAR) 3 runs 1/0ga for power and 2 runs of 1/0ga for negative.
