emperorjj1
Second Skin.. I've used both, second skin is my product of choice.. and fyi Ant is no longer affiliated with Second Skin, he sold it recently Yahhhh my bad i forgot all about that haha Is buying direct from SS the only option? no there are second skin dealers too http://www.secondskinaudio.com/dealer-locator.php also remember damplifier is comparable to dynamat extreme and damplifier pro is thicker and better. so doing apples to apples damplifier is 104.98 for 40sq ft Quote J. AMI CUSTOMS
I believe the material is what is important along with thickness Quote TEAM SOUNDQUBED -- TEAM SOUTH TEAM S.O.B. - Founder & Captain 3x Streetbeat World Record Holder 2017 MWSPL 1st place Mayhem & 4th Xtreme 4 2016 MWSPL 1st place Mayhem/2nd Adv 4/2nd Xtreme 4 2015 MWSPL 2nd place Mayhem & 4th Xtreme 4 2014 USACI 2nd place Streetbeat 5 - 162.6 db 2014 MWSPL 2nd place Xtreme 4 - 144.9 db 2013 USACI 1st place Streetbeat 4 - 161.9 db 2013 USACI 1st place Street Q+ - 162.8 db 2013 MWSPL 3rd Kaos2 & 4th Xtreme 4 2011 USACI 2nd place MOD 1001-2k - 160.0 db 2011 MWSPL 4th place: Adv3 - 157.8 db, Kaos2 - 150s db, Xtreme4 - 140s db 2010 ARSPL 1st place 501-750 - 160.3 db Arkansas loudest Best score to date 164.4 db - Termlab Outlaw Streetbeat 4 - 161.9 db Streetbeat 5 - 162.6 db MWSPL on Dash Legal door open (Music) - 162.5 db Sealed on dash Legal (Music) - 161.1 db - Termlab THE BLACK NASTY CURRENT BUILD & FAB The Black Nasty (6) 15 Rebuild Log 2012 (4) 15 Walled Sierra Build Log Evo X build log Facebook page The Black Nasty

Mikesmith0890
Fatmat is total of 70 mil thick... SS damp pro is total 8 0 mil thick, but 6.5 mil thick on the aluminum foil BUT... Fatmat Rattletrap is also 8 0 mil thick total. ryderonthestorm
I love Dynamat extreme and have had excellent results using it. But I am probably gonna try Second Skin next time I need sound dampening. Just because of all the positive reviews I have read on here. SecondSkinzz
I have used both and not to sound self-promoting but Second Skin is the way to go. It is a better engineered, American made product that performs as promised. The customer service can't be beat. BTW, the company is now owned by Ken Kanefield of Tucson, AZ Edited December 6, 2010 by SecondSkinzz

emperorjj1
I believe the material is what is important along with thickness bingo.... i actually got some free edead ue once. not much it was like a sq ft but after seeing it i had absolutely no interest in putting even that one sq foot in my car. Specs wise yes it was thicker then damp pro but the gray colored plastic they call foil was garbage the adhesive sucked and in general just comparing the 2 the edead was worlds behind. i tried to give it away but no one wanted it. in the end the person i gave it to pretty much threw it away Quote J.
