THEKINGsBACK Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 I have been reDoing and in some peoples signature I see that they are running a amp that has been modified.. how would u go about doing this? Quote he wouldnt be the first to say they did a 167 with a system like that (one that clearly DOESNT), but i have to say, he didnt beat me anywhere, ive never competed against the guy. If he thinks his does a 167, mine would probably put him in a coma. :hairtrick:
hdorre Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 Modifying it to do what? To not go into protection from low impedances, run at higher voltages, etc? Ford302Redneck Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 Certain amps can produce more power by being modded to do a certain thing. Usually its taking the protection circuit out. Quote
__d_a_v_i_d__ Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 Also seen kicker amps (the 2ohm stabled ones be modded to be 1 ohm stable, which will produce more power at a lower ohm. Probably wouldnt even be worth it....you would probably get like an extra few hundered watts out of it and a big drop in efficiency. AMI CUSTOMS Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 Yup we ran a zx1000 at 1 ohm an clamped 982 watts out of it at ~13 volts and it is 2 ohm stable we were rising to like 1.8 ohm I believe. skittlesRgood Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 yep, you cant do much to an amp to make it produce more power. voltage would be the biggest improvement. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.
