winksta
ok well i was wondering whats the advantages and disadvantages of cans vs. air sturts... i knopw meade said go with the air sturts i was just wondering what the advantages and disadvantages were..... also i go around alot of turns is there some kind of leveling system i can use that it will adapt itself to the road like springs would and go up and down by themselves.... cause id like to know which one would be easier on turns as well... dmz2711
ok well i was wondering whats the advantages and disadvantages of cans vs. air sturts... i knopw meade said go with the air sturts i was just wondering what the advantages and disadvantages were..... also i go around alot of turns is there some kind of leveling system i can use that it will adapt itself to the road like springs would and go up and down by themselves.... cause id like to know which one would be easier on turns as well... i had air cylinders on my accord. the problem is, while they are efficent being nice and fast and can take high psi (in my case 180-200 psi), they cause my ride to be extremely bumpy and uncomfortable. The reason that struts might work better is because they use an airbag, which gives and flexes much more than a steel tube(cylinders). I don't know how much psi they can take but i have ridden in cars with air struts/air bags and the ride is much more comfortable than my ride with the cylinders. This is just my view on past experiences. Hope it helps, maybe someone could correct me if i am wrong. :^ Quote Nobody makes me bleed my own blood, NOBODY!!! dmz2711
one more point to add is: if you insist on air cylinders which are cheaper than air struts (most of the time), you can balance out the bumpy ride feeling, by using air accumulators. Air accumulators basically expand the air chamber of the cylinders to make a less bumpy ride. :^ Quote Nobody makes me bleed my own blood, NOBODY!!! sinwagon
We sell both cylinders and strut bags. I prefer strut bags due to the night and day difference in ride quality. A cylinder will only Also, you will have to fab brackets for your vehicle. The ride quality of cylinders is comparable to hydraulics (very stiff). Strut bags will also last you alot longer. bassprodigy
iam plannin on puttin baggz on my car wen i get tha green, but i kno tht if ur into 3wheel and hoppin and all tht stuff, cylinderz are the way to go....... cylinderz are like a slower smaller verson of hydroz only with air......baggz will probably lay out more than cylinderz due 2 tha fact tht itz made out of rubber and itz not a big can........ Big P
cylinders arnt really that good they wernt designed for a cars suspinsion they take to much air making for a pore ride if you plan on doing a Honda then i wouldn't go with them at all theres something with front wheel drive geometry that causes the cylinder to snap off. I hear they work grate for cameros tho. If you must get cylinders get SMC's one problem with bagged struts is that they will not let you get that low when aired out. This can be fixed by raising the top strut mounts.
meade916
for normal daily use i used to run at 200lbs.....i have put 280 and even 300lbs one time in mine and they never snapped off...i beat the shit out of my old cans (the ones that got stolen) for 2 years. Worked perfect till the day they were gone. Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! Over 1,000,000 subscribers strong!
