Hey looking good can't wait to see the outcome it's very interesting that you are using rope for strength I've never seen that but it's sweet I'll be watching this

thanks man, ive seen other people use rope before and it makes sense to me that it will add strength. it took more resin this way and was a little harder to apply the mat but once i pull it out ill test it and see how strong it is now with 4 layers and the rope and see if i need to glass more

You should look at woven boat mat it is about 1/4 thick two layers of that and your are golden. Search for my evo x build in this section and you will see what I am talking about. Not bad so far.

thanks, i know what your talking about and personally i like using chop mat better because i think it is stronger, especially on surfaces that arent flat. i would use it if i was glassing a surface that was mostly flat though
