My money is on that OR he is chocking the port inside the box and his tuning is higher than he thinks and playing well below tuning. I was having some weird noises with my 12 and ends up even with 4 2x4s and a shit load of bracing the trunk just isn't stable enough and the actual trunk was causing rattling/ vibration of the box. Does the box move at all when playing. Can you hold your hand on it and feel it move up and down? I have my 12" XL in 2.3cubes on 2k and it doesn't have any issues.
