i want to run as many things DC as i can, cuz i like to match 8)

but im thinkin the 5k might be too much for the xl's and i dont think my wallet can afford the electrical upgrades that come along with it haha. but maybe...

2 xl's on a 5k would be perfect IMO. But you can't have any clipping.

This is so true. Cause unless the amp was wired down in the dirt, the subs would never see 5k. But even if it did they would be fine.

wanting to wire it to 1 ohm.

i know DC underrates there subs, but it can take almost double the power its rated??

Yep, they can take more than 2x rms. People feed them 3500wrms DAILY. They know what they're doing though.
