kickass audio Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 Ok, so i got my AA SMD 18 in the mail the other day and when i hit it with my multimeter it reads at .7-.8 ohms per coil. i have myself a Stetsom 2k6d amplifier (the 2 ohm model) and i was wondering if i ran the SMD in series and it would make the resistance before imp rise to 1.4-1.6 ohms would it make the stetsom go into protect? i know it goes into protect pretty easily when i had the p.o.s. solox in and blew 1 coil with it wired in parallel it was quick at going into protect which is good but will this give me a problem running the SMD? i was thinking to get another 2k6d to strap them together but i really want to see if my single 2k6d will make the smd worth my while. EclipseChris Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 With the 12.6 problem. Take a multimeter in the ohm mode and put one lead on the underhood battery and the other on the battery in the back. If there is an open in the wire then the meter will come up with "OL" meaning your front battery is not hooked up to the back. i resolve to be a nicer moderator. Tercel build R.I.P. For your voltage problem, try trickle charging your batteries overnight. What kind of alt do you have? Yeah, sorry I didn't look at your sig...that would have been smart of me! That may not be the problem, but that is what I would do first to get their resting voltage up, then see if you maintain that voltage. If you don't, then something else is up.
