I fire forward and still have rear speakers. You just have to isolate them. Now if you dont seal off you'll get cancellation The difference is night and day from a full sealed to a half sealed. trust me.

this... although it is damn near impossible to completely seal it off, it does make a huge difference....

and no, firing forward isnt just about spl... its about getting loud and sounding good doing it, without the annoying trunk rattle...

Do what it takes to seal it off, if not dont waste your time ,just leave the subs facing rear .Its kinda like building a box out of 3/8 plywood ,why waste the wood, and why waste the time .Any job worth doing,is worth doing well.

esxactly. Im pretty sure you've fired forward too right? And I'm sure you've tested firing forward without sealing it off too right? I was actually pissed before I sealed it off completely. Was doubting my box building abilities. Told myself that if i sealed off and wasnt getting the impact I wanted that was it for them and Id move on. Sealed off and I'm very happy with it now. for a trunk car on 1200 watts and 2 mid level 12s she gets jiggy.

first strip the carpet out of there. Then where the trunk meets the cabin, I think there should be some bolts that hold on those diagonal pieces so you can remove them, thus making the hole bigger. At least its like that in my car.
