Ok I have two rockford t1 12.4 in an orion bass pack box and it slams right now with a hcca 1200d at 1 ohm, only pushes 600rms. I just got a planet audio rem2400, in a trade. It says it will push 800rms at 4 ohms. Now before I go get crazy and rewire the box so I was wonder ing about the efficiency. Now am I going to be louder with 600rms @ 1 ohm or 800rms @ 4 ohms.

Ok one more addition orion rated at 14.4 the planet audio is at 12.9 I belive that is what the site said. I know with the p a I'll be pushing over 800rms b but will it be louder even tho its running at 4 ohms

Lol, much fail in this thread.

You're not going to hear a difference with 200 watts

No mention of the enclosure, vehicle, or important information.

Resistance does not change your....loudness, lol. 600 watts is 600 watts. Unless you're actually worrying about sound reproduction, although I have no idea why when powering your subs.

I don't know how you're going to rewire your box...

Which model Orion? Possibility that both are max rated and right now you're only seeing 300 per woofer.

Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

Ok its the orion hcca1200d it is a 600w rms at 1 ohm mono block, the new amp is a planet audio rem2400 800 rms at 4 ohms bridged 2 channel. The box will be rewired via the subs instead of parallel its gonna be series/parallel to give me a 4 ohm load instead of the one ohm. As for the box it is the orion bass pack box that the old hp subs came in, which is ported. The car is a 95 neon with big 3, a kinetic bat, 1/0 though out til dist block then 4g. 8g speaker wire. Let me know what other info you need

Maybe I'm reading this wrong, and guys, if I am correct me, but wouldn't an amps output be more at a lower impedance? Meaning, at 4 ohms, it should be 600rms and @1 ohm 800rms?

he is talking about 2 different amps.

well the title says "sound quality" and the post only asks about how loud something will be. so what do you want to know? lol.

more power is more power. operating at the lowest resistance an amp will take wont change SQ from amp to amp. taking a 1000w at 1ohm amp and running it at 4ohm for 300w will give you better SQ because THD will be much lower.

If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.
