teamace24
well if you want to get the biggest possible then get 4 and figure out how to make it fit Lol, really im trying to get the smallest that i can get away with but if that means loosing power to my subs then ill go with 10 or 8. So will 12 gauge do? 1st Setup(SOLD):2007 GMC YukonPioneer Avic F90bt Audiocontrol Epicenter2 Audioque SDC2.5 15 subs8.7 cubes at 37hz build DONEAudioque 1200d (Audioque 1200d Sold, similar performance to my ap1500)Diamond Audio Hex 6.5 Mids n TweetsCerwin Vega Exl 400 4 channel Bridged(also have MTX 4004 not being used)1 Run of power Knu Fleks 4 Gauge2 Cheap stock Battery setup2nd Setup (SOLD):2007 GMC YukonPioneer Avic F90bt Audiocontrol Epicenter2 15 Kicker cvx (maybe two SA 15 in future)7 cubes net tuned at 34hzAlphasonik Old school 1600rms (ap 1500d sold GREAT Budget amp)JBL 6.5 Power Series Components, Infinity Kappa 6.5 3 ways, and 2 Kicker KS Tweets (LOUD)Cerwin vega exl4001 run knu Fleks OFC 0 gaugeBig 3 done1 Odyssey 1500, 1 optima yellow top d31
EclipseChris
If youre talking about wires from the sub to the amp, 12 gauge is fine. That chart is for power wire from the battery to the amp wrong. i resolve to be a nicer moderator. Tercel build R.I.P. Eclipse build Old New V-Dub My feedback. Gatorcity
I didnt even look at it! It was an assumption! Emoxihax
jesus just get 10 gauge. I'd say 8 gauge but you'll find a reason not to get it 2004 Volkswagen GLI 1 10" Skar VVX ^^^ Looking for an amp to run it, Pm me if you have one ^^^
Boon
That chart is a bit... ;/ The speaker wire stuff is definitely overkill. Ever looked at your tinsel leads? They're not exactly 8 gauge and they handle a helluva lot of power in some cases. 10.x volts fo' life!
teamace24
Hey boon, ive been reading your stuff for a long time on forums and respect your opinion. Also thanks to others who have replied. Money is not an issue right now on speaker wire, but i like to work with smaller gauge on speakers because its easier to handle. With that said what do you think i should do with my setup of 3 cvx 15 at 1500rms will i be good with 12 gauge or should i go 10 or 8 gauge. My main thing is i do not want to lose power to my subs. VaNQuisH
To be honest... anywhere from 8awg - 16 gauge you're going to be perfectly fine! Some of it might be overkill but put whatever will fit Currently: * Hybrid Audio Legathia 3-Way Active Front Stage * (2) Morel Ultimo 12's * (2) Arc Audio 1100.1 XDi v2 (Strapped @1ohm) * (1) Arc Audio 1200.6 * RF 360.3 DSP
teamace24
I also want to leave enough headroom just in case i was to upgrade my amplifier in the future to 2500-3000 rms. Will 12 gauge handle up to 3000rms? If it will i will buy that. If not then will 10 gauge go up to 3000rms? if it will then ill go with 10 gauge. 1st Setup(SOLD):2007 GMC YukonPioneer Avic F90bt Audiocontrol Epicenter2 Audioque SDC2.5 15 subs8.7 cubes at 37hz build DONEAudioque 1200d (Audioque 1200d Sold, similar performance to my ap1500)Diamond Audio Hex 6.5 Mids n TweetsCerwin Vega Exl 400 4 channel Bridged(also have MTX 4004 not being used)1 Run of power Knu Fleks 4 Gauge2 Cheap stock Battery setup2nd Setup (SOLD):2007 GMC YukonPioneer Avic F90bt Audiocontrol Epicenter2 15 Kicker cvx (maybe two SA 15 in future)7 cubes net tuned at 34hzAlphasonik Old school 1600rms (ap 1500d sold GREAT Budget amp)JBL 6.5 Power Series Components, Infinity Kappa 6.5 3 ways, and 2 Kicker KS Tweets (LOUD)Cerwin vega exl4001 run knu Fleks OFC 0 gaugeBig 3 done1 Odyssey 1500, 1 optima yellow top d31
