amp question

I have a orion hcca 15.2 and i neeed to know if an AQ2200D of a kicker 2500 amp would be better

I would go with the AQ over the Kicker. Great amp and its cheaper than the Kicker, that and since you have a dual 2 sub it can be wired @ 1 ohm, which the Kicker is only a 2ohm stable amp.

If the sub is a D2 coil, get the AQ. The kicker isn't rated for 1 ohm. Otherwise they are both nice amps, but I'd go with the AQ personally.

but the kicker amp at 2ohms is pushing 2500. i guess im confussed in ohms between 1 ohm and 2 ohm. and alos I asked the place where i am getting it all installed as well as another store that does car audio and neither have heard of the audioque amp which kind of scares me beacuse i dont want to spend 400 dollars on an amp that professional installers havent heard of

Dual 4 ohm subs give you a 1 ohm load.... Dual to is .5 if u lookin for more power at 2 ohms get the kicker

The reason none of them have heard of AQ is because they have the brands that they sell and they dont dabble in other, according to them "non-mainstream brands". where are you located im sure you could find someone on here thats just as qualified to do an install and would charge you way less than what a local audio shop would. if you dont think you could trust an "Average Joe" ask for some examples of thier work and make ur decision.

Your sub can either be wired to 4ohms or 1 ohm, generally alot of amps dont push out alot of power @ 4ohms so thats why u'd want to wire it to 1ohm. The AQ amp is a little underated though also and would preform just as good if not better than the Kicker. Also ur saving a few hundred bucks going with the AQ over the Kicker which in my book is a win win situation.

As others have said with your sub you need a 1ohm stable amp (which the kicker isn't). If you had a 15.4 then I would say the Kicker bought locally (from where you get it installed so if it blows they replace it).

They haven't heard of AQ because they deal in mainstream consumer stuff. I doubt they have heard of AQ, AA, Sundown, etc. either. Nothing to worry about, they just don't deal with the niche stuff.
