Rebuild in progress

what happens when your CD player skips and you accidentally drop a 22 hz sine bomb at an unholy volume on 7-8 year old subs? Mechanical failure floppy sub knockage on at least 2.

well...as i see the level 6 is compared to a lamborghini.....but a corvette?

i was thinking more like a chevy volt. its cute and new and "hip", but i would just rather stick my dick in a blender.........

You need to put a fuse as close to the amp as possible on the power wire use an anl 250 or 200. And it will tell you in the paper work with the amp how they recommend it.

ok, so once again i have some people telling me ill be fine with just the first fuse, then i have some telling me i need a second fuse closer to the amp.. what is the definitive answer? the way i look at it is.. the fuse is there for protection? correct? so.. if the first fuse next to the battery blows..which that one would blow before the one closer to the amp would anyway...then there is no power going past that point..thus saving the amp..making the second fuse pointless...but i may be totally wrong in my way of thinking, but it makes sense if you think about it like that.

Put it like this, for about 10 extra dollars put the fuse there and be done with it. Everyone will say something different but you never know what could happen. Those few extra dollars could potentially keep your shit from burning to the ground.

TDH FTW !!!

If no rear battery next to the amp, then just fuse by the front battery. That will work just like intended. I was thinking you would want an extra battery next to the amp. I would.

By externally fused do you mean this amp has no fuses?

I'm not exactly a noob, but I've never heard of such.

alot of the good amps are, lets you abuse them at comps and not be limited by the fusing :)

In my experience the fuse by the amp won't do much. If you're worried about the amp, fuse REALLY conservatively at the battery end of the wire - generally the wire's current capacity is plenty more than what the amp will ever pull.

The amp's own fusing is plenty to let the amp massively shit itself and burn every single MOSFET inside it. Trust me, I've seen inside a bunch that have gone out that way. They only really save you from a massive instantaneous current spike such as if you hook the amp up backwards (most amps have 0 resistance in reverse)

i dont think a second batttery will be necessary for this install, i have a hc2000 under the hood and a DC power 180 amp alt, and big 3 done it 1/0. i should see very litte voltage drop, if any at all.

Your call, just depends on how hard you are going to push the amp.

Better if you put two. The fuse in the battery (in the engine room) will protect the wire from the battery to the amplifier, and the fuse that you will put really close to amp will protect the amp circuits. 2 fuses for you not to worry all the time mate....

P.S.:And don't worry about the connections. As long as you are extra careful with them, you wont have a problem at all.

LET THERE BE BASS...!
