LT.Smoke
Chewing my way through this, filling out paperwork, got my CPL class next Sunday. Also decided against trading in my Model 60, was only going to get $75 bucks for it so fuck that. Gonna put several different kinds of ammo through it and try to find something that won't jam in it. It's at Gander Mountain now getting a full out tear down, scrub, bath, and rebuild, should have it back in a few days. You want the easiest watered down version of home protection? LT.Smoke
In all seriousness though for home protection the best thing to do is stay in your room... Lbox88
Yeah I know lol, just have to fill out this booklet based on the book, so I have to do the college skim and find the right phrasing for the questions asked. Lbox88
Completed my CPL class yesterday, just have to go to the county clerk and sheriff's office to do the paperwork side of things. Class got me thinking though about getting a small simplex locking safe, but I don't want one that uses a battery and/or has a fingerprint reader. Anyone know of a good one? Hunters21w
I'm interested in one too, as well as a nice small car safe. Lbox88
I was told something like this would be good for the car since it comes with a security cable you can loop around a seat leg or bar so that they can't take the whole box. http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?pdesc=GunVault-Nano-Vault-100-with-Keyed-Lock&i=430504&aID=510J7F&merchID=4006 Trying to avoid Stack On safes since I saw this: http://www.basspro.com/Stack-On-Quick-Access-Safe-with-Biometric-Lock/product/421825128/?cmCat=CROSSSELL_PRODUCT 1 Quote UBL | Build Log
 6.9k 11.2k 35
Lbox88
So apparently my county sucks the D. Got everything turned in yesterday and fingerprinted and was told there will be a 4-5 month delay before I get my license in the mail. People in surrounding counties will most likely have it in less than 4 weeks. Quote UBL | Build Log
 6.9k 11.2k 35
Hunters21w
That sucks man, took me 7 weeks in OC. I like that nano vault a lot! What you think of this for a quick access home safe? http://www.gunvault.com/gun-safes/multivault.html/ Quote 06 Police TahoeHU- Pioneer 80prsAmp- Crossfire 8kSub- 4 15" Crossfire xs v2sWire- 1/0 Knu/AudiotechnixAlt- 3 Mechman SMD 340sBatts- 6 XS Power 3100s, 2400
 112 1.7k
Lbox88
That sucks man, took me 7 weeks in OC. I like that nano vault a lot! What you think of this for a quick access home safe? http://www.gunvault.com/gun-safes/multivault.html/ They look nice but reviews on them has me shook up. That's the style I want for my night stand, but I would like to find something fully mechanical, nothing electronic. Great safe if you don't have to gain access fast. Sometimes I have to do the combination 10 times. You can hear the lock trip but it does not open. At night I open it with the key and just shut it when I wake up. It will be going back as soon as I make my next trip to the store. This item locks up and will not open ALL THE TIME. VERY FRUSTRATING! Works well if you want to keep your gun IN the safe. Not so much when you want to take it out! Safe wouldnt spring open when code was entered. Brand new, brand new battery. Punched in code and nothing. Its garbage. After setting a code and testing this vault seemed to work fine, but then after mounting I found that it did not consistently open on correct entry of the code. Sometimes it would take several repeated attempts before it would open. And then only 1 month after installing the brand new energizer batteries it started to beep indicating the batteries were dying and after 2 months they were completely dead.I wish I would have listened to the other reports of these problems and never bought one. Leads me to believe that maybe one out of every 10 is a dud or something. However, this is the same safe they recommended during my course for at home quick access storage. 1 Quote UBL | Build Log
 6.9k 11.2k 35
