Holster? If so find a match and go. Let those who are range officers know it's your first man ever. And go slow. Don't expect to set the world on fire. Go slow be safe and see if you like it. If you do you'll start to see what you need to work on and can wrk from there Pistol-yes, it's a compact though (m&p 40c double stack so its 10 rnd mags) so I am thinking I might have an inherent disadvantage at longer matches, also I have no safety on my model is that going to limit me at ranges?Holster with decent retention-have a blackhawk OTW Mag pouches-need more and more mags Belt- yes, have a duty belt I got for work that I don't use for work I'll check out those match types and see what I can get into. I need to get out to my larents to shoot more, they live out in the country 10 minutes away so that's where I shoot at. Being a compact is more of a disadvantage but overall that's doable. Safety doesn't matter it's actually a disadvantage to have one imo. First thing is to have fun and be safe. You can work on everything to get better from there. I've been bit pretty hard and I used to never really like to shoot pistol. Wait times on form 1s are trending about 130 days now. Nfa tracker has them approving to about June 18th so roughly another sixty days on this one. My last one was 80 some days.
