That's pretty much what I was getting at. Yea I see it. So only around the port If do where the port enters the vehicle, but also where the the sides of your box come together. Just flip the PVC over. So the curved edge is down ( like a halfpipe ) may have to sand it on the edges to get a smooth transition from the PVC to the wood.
