SlamminBeats
Ok so I have seats that fold down with a ski hole. If i build a floating baffle behind my seats and center a 15" woofer in an IB fashion, will it work with JUST the ski hole open at all times. I do not want to fold the seats down. I realize sets down will likely be better, but the question is will the ski hole open be ok. Or will i have be trapping too many waves between the floating baffle and seat backs? Bolting baffle to rear seats is not an option here.

mrd6
We had the same plan in buddies car but he never went through with buying equipment...I dont know if it will work but we were hoping it would lol My Build Log: http://www.stevemead...-sundown-power/ Team NorthWestSPL
jk13
That would act like a 4th order. Sealed side behind the baffle to the trunk. Vented side to the front using the ski hole as the port. Do the math, might work. Plan on a lot of deadening and sealing in front and behind. Won't be as good as an actual enclosure. Static drops are my bag. ShadeTreeMechanic
Floating? It would have to be solidly mounted to something and sealed so the front wave doesn't meet the back wave. Will it work? Sure we used to do these installs back in the day when free air woofers came out. Will it be better than a box? No. What ever speakers are in your rear deck are going to get worked over. But I'm sure it will do something. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)
jk13
Bottom line if the ski hole opening is smaller than the cone area of the sub--no, it won't act as an IB. See my post above. Static drops are my bag.
SlamminBeats
Thats what i was afraid of. I think i may he stuck with 6.5s subs in rear deck. I hope i can find some that play down to 30hz. Any suggestions?
