This project was always intended to be a "work on it when i feel like it" type of build. I accomplished my goal of breaking the windshield and posting a 160+ with this system so i decided to work on other stuff for a bit. The vehicle ran like crap anyway so i wasn't excited about putting an alternator in it, barely able to stay running. But something changed the other day. I decided to try and get to the bottom of why it wasn't running right and although it isn't perfect, it runs MUCH better! As soon as i got it to hold an idle i knew it was time to install the alternator. So here we are. My last numbers were posted with batteries only so this will probably help! They are NOT TIGHTENED down yet so if some are a little crooked, it's only because of that. They have a flat spot and when you do torque them down, they all sit perfectly level. These amps have vents and a fan below so i could not just put the amp on a board and screw it down. I had to raise it up about an inch to accommodate some air movement. Hoping to be able to try it out by the weekend! maybe even tomorrow. I really have to start thinking about other stuff like a source unit, processing, etc. No rush, this is all experimental to me. I have no idea if any of it will even be good. I hope though. thanks for checking in!

Basically using this, some 24ga GSM, and some silicone (from the bottom) to seal the rack off completely. It will help seal around the fans too.

this is just for fitment...i plan on bracing it down the middle a few times and also sheeting it with sheet metal to keep the elements away from the rack. It shouldn't hang very much lower then the well itself used to. I don't buy my shit built, i build it myself. Thanks very much. LOL OH YA I DGAF! Got home and had some stuff waiting for me from SkyHigh Audio! Some of the nicest ANL fuse blocks i have seen. All these fuses for 3 amps.

This is the DGAF car - and i am about to prove it. LOL OK the batteries DID fit end to end in the car and i probably didn't HAVE to do this. One thing i didn't want to do was have to lay over the top of my batteries and use a mirror to set the gains, xovers etc. So i decided to make life easier on myself by dropping the batts into the spare tire well. The spare tire well is round and tapered so all 8 batts won't fit......until now . Anyhow, remember before you give me some advice, i already know i need to make it air and water tight. With the exception of the fan system i am going to try and incorporate now that there is a big hole, it will be water tight. This ride is probably not going to hit the highway at all, let alone in the rain so it's no problem. Anyway, I already know what i am going to do. It's not done yet but i wanted to share what i did so far so here ya go. We pushed it out of the booth and over to the other side of the shop where the lift is. Surprisingly, it rolls easy with all that weight (the woofers/wall). Up on the lift and deciding my next move...All i do know is it involves a Sawzall. LOL Actually, i was going to try and pound out a little area and see if could get the batts in......but a few blows and my sledge hammer went thru. Well its no going back now!

I am in "hunter/gatherer" mode. I am ready to get started but every time i think i am ready, i remember i need something else before i can even think about it. I guess hunting, gathering, planning IS getting started if you think about it. It's time consuming and costs MONEY. The system is already worth 20 times the car but well, i DGAF! When it's all said and done it can come out and ill have a HELL of a system for another car Time to have some fun though and that's what this build is about. Got tons of Sky High 2/0 wire! Ordered up some 4 and 8ga as well as some nice OFC speaker wire for the doors. I have fuses, blocks and other nick nacks on the way too - all SkyHigh! Also, as you scroll down, you will see the DC Audio 90.4 amp that will run the doors. This is mainly going to be an SPL vehicle but it will have mids/highs for demo's - if it's worthy of a demo that is (when done). Some samples OFC and CCA. I won't be using any CCA though. Love the SkyHigh heat shrink.
