So I happened upon this clean blue beauty and for a price of almost half of all the others of similar year and mileage, I snatched it up. My build plans with it are to move my current system from the explorer into this since i will no longer own the explorer in a short time. The equipment being: HU- Pioneer DEH-80PRS Subs- Two SoundQubed HDS312D2's Amps- SoundQubed Q1-3500.1; AudioQue 90.4 Mids & Highs- CDT CL61A Wires- All Sky High 1/0, RCA's, 12ga speaker wire Power- Haven't decided on an alt yet, gotta contact singer, see what he's got. I don't think I'll go with anything over 300A on the alt. I'll have a D3400 under the hood, and I've got a D4700 i had bought for a cruze that I'll keep by the amps. Hopefully I can get started on transferring it all this weekend. I've got duty saturday so i'll have all day sunday to knock it out. The only things that need bought are the D3400 and the alt. Posted this earlier in a different subforum. Found this section and this seems a better place for this. Sundown Audio website recommended enclosure for X12 dual 4 v2 Ported 2.5^3 Displacement .2 Tuning 32hz Port Area 40^2 I was thinking that the 2.5 cubes is NET, but then I opened the box spec/cut sheet and see the recommended box size is 20x20x15.5. That is more like 2.77 gross. Now I built that 20x20x15.5 and while building it, I noticed the port was way undersized (2"x14") so I made the port area wider by 3/4" (to get it closer to the 40sqin) which made the NET cubes 1.7^3 tuned to 40hz with 38.5 sqin port. This box sounds awesome with some songs with the sub up/port back but should definitely be tuned a bit lower to suit my needs. I have to keep the port at least 8 inches away from the trunk wall, any closer it looses sound and rattles the heck out of my rear door. Problem is that it doesnt fit in my Scion xB without the seat folded down so I need to build another enclosure. Can someone recommend a net size for this woofer? If I have that, I can go from there. Any help is very appreciated. I will be giving this woofer the rated power plus some.

Well I put the not finished door pods in. I threw some paint on them for some color, but I'll sand it all off and finish sanding them smooth. They're pretty rough looking, but I got music again. Duty today so tomorrow when I leave the ship I'll get to work on them again. I love the PA's. Loud, clear, and sharp notes. Thinking about using Velcro to secure the pods to the door panel. Anyone done that before?

Got the AQ 90x4 back today Opened up the box and found this though -__- I hate packing peanuts But! After I got them all cleaned up and out of the crevices of the heat sinks, it looks just like it did before. Like a used amp but I'm excited to hook it back up and have some damn music again!!! Too pumped!! Now I just need my PA's to get here, and I'll be a happy camper Thanks for checking out my little build

Today's progress: Pulled the old alternator. Here it is next to the shiny new Singer 270 270 installed Voltage with no load At some point in the near-ish future, I'll snap a pic of voltage at idle with the music full tilt, but not today. Went for a ride to test and full tilt it only dropped to 14.6 (~1.7k rpms). I'm satisfied so far. Door pods fit good, only one gap that isn't going to be visible so I'm not worried about it. No pics. Need to mount them to the door still but that's after they get some color on them. Only issue installing the alt I had was the new 3/4inch shorter belt being a bitch to get over the pulley, and the stock charging wire lug was a little small to get on the bolt, started drilling it a little bigger, it caught on the bit and the bit found my finger. No worries, all is good, and more updates will be coming before long. I have a feeling a new box will be in the picture very very soon....

Picked up a package today 270A 6 phase hairpin powder coated blue to match the Tahoe, and I'm itching to put it in. But that will be a project for tomorrow. Got a little dog tag shaped keychain And everything in the box (no severed head...) I've got a couple hours before the sun goes down. I've got a horrendous headache, but I'm going to work on gap filling the pods where they sit in the door panel (thanks mark CAF for the helpful videos). Tomorrow I'll pull the stock alt and belt, put on the new alt and shorter belt and crank 'er up. Ordering the soundqubed pro audios here in a minute too. I'll try to get pictures as I work on it this weekend Edit: also, SoundQubed is sending my 90x4 back this weekend, hopefully be here next week, and here shortly I'll have tunes in my ride again. Then it's on to box building and sound deadening (as funds are available of course).

Hopefully I'll have them finished by next weekend. Won't get anything done tomorrow, and the wife will be home soon so I doubt I will have anything more done today either. In other news, I bought some rubber stoppers to put under the feet of my amps to help absorb some vibration and raise them up a bit for better cooling from underneath. Things that need to get done: -Design and build a new enclosure -Design and build a new amp rack -Purchase door speakers -Run more wire and ground for rear battery -Find a place to mount VM-1 If anyone follows this, sorry it's slow and not the greatest, but time and money are tight, I do what I can when I can.

So that's all I got done. Battery installed, power wire from front to back battery. Hopefully it won't rain so much tomorrow like it's supposed to and I can at least run my remote wire from the HU to the amps, and knock out the big three. So here's the interior lighting. It looks brighter in the pictures than it is in person. From the outside Doors Map lights And dome lighting in the rear seats It's just replaced OEM lighting, so they only light when the doors open or the buttons are pressed.

So here's the hydraulic crimper. Didn't get around to using it before the sunset, so no crimps today. I fixed my grounding/alt whine issue. Turns out I had some insulation crimped into the wire. All fixed now. But I decided that while the dash is apart, I'd run my RCA's. Getting them zip tied and tidy looking Ready to be run Hidden run in the floor trim And out to the amps Better picture of the head unit in the dash. Also got some blue LED's to replace all of the interior lights with (doors, dome, maps, glove box) and white LED's for the license plate. I didn't snap any pictures of the little things before the install, but I'll try to get some of the lighting in the morning on my way to work. Perks of leaving your house at 5:30 having blue interior lighting is something I always wanted to try out so I did it. If I end up not liking it, I still have all of the stock bulbs. Got the email back from Jon with the invoice for my order, hopefully it'll be shipped out tomorrow and maybe be here by Friday Other upgrades I'm in the plans of making sooner than others: smoked headlight/tail lights, HO alt, and getting better at remembering to take pictures.
