What the hell is the damn difference between "Mono-Subwoofer" and "Subwoofer" inputs on a headunit? Sonicelectronics is getting me all confused.

Mono means it is summed, left and right signals come out the same. You need left/right separation for highs and mids, that creates stereo imaging. Bass is omnidirectional (you can't hear where it's coming from) so left/right separation isn't necessary. Also, there can be phase issues if a separate left/right signal are summed in the amplifier, so it is desirable to have a mono output.
