  1. Here is an old box in my PT.....4 12"s. I think it was 39"x16" or something. You could do something like it and aim two subs into the rear seats and the other 2 subs downfiring and they would not be visible. For a more custom and unique look, you could get creative with the shape of the ports, use a plexiglass window into the enclosure paint the inside and light it with LEDs, add some plexiglass mirrors, etc.
  2. Not to threadjack, but it might be in the parking lot at Heatwave, (not competing).
  3. Yep, with a lot of PMs to Steve, the center chamber is just open space, not tuned or calculated at all. I had 36" width to work with so I divided it by 3 so the center chamber on mine is 12" wide. Vids of the Hoopty appear that it is larger in size but an Escalade is much wider than a PT! Steve, Ray or a few others might be be able to explain it better but there is something magical about that design shape! It has no cancellation and produces a very nice sound. I had to have it! Thankfully Steve let me attempt to copy it. Mine is nothing like the real thing, just looks like it.
  4. The airspace behind the subs and the port tuning is more important than the chamber size. Not really luck, just get the subs the space they need and the chamber gets what is left limited only by the vehicle it's going in.
  5. I have that amp. It'll do 2200 if it gets enough power. I have a Hc1400 under the hood, and 2 Hc600's in the back, 136 amp alternator and a mild MLA module, (along with 600 watts rms for mids/highs; My voltage is 14.6 and drops to 14.2v at full volume. I think what you have posted would be more than enough for a 2200D.
  6. OHHHHH the Ford Fusion amps! Well that's not mine, I just borrowed the vid from Soberbills post cause it has that song.
  7. My PT? Its got a mini cooper wing, VW wheels, 5 different brands of speakers, 2 different brands of amps....what can I say, I like to mix and match a little.
  8. Ok, not sure about you guys with bigger subs, but on my eight 12"s this song romps! Makes my nostrils vibrate! My new demo song. Somebody get Ray to do a vid of this playing in the Hummer! PLEASE! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8d27Hj8Gg9o ....borrowed this from Soberbills.......good stuff!
  9. Camber is not adjustable on a PT, unless they used camber correcting bolts ~$20 + install charge on top of the alignment, is this what you mean by eccentric bolts? And yes it will be out of spec at different height settings. Here is a great resource forum for you to join. www.ptcrew.com
  10. Those are just piezo mini sirens, and Toyota has a contract with Floyd Bell. Yes you can use any 12v piezo siren. I use one on my Viper alarm, in addition to a regular siren and factory alarm horn: http://www.floydbell.com/products/specifications/UC-09-515-W Any of them that is a continuous tone will work for you, just pick one that you like the sound of, and check the output in db, some are louder than others.
  11. I have a friend looking at this alarm, anyone ever installed one, or seen one? They make a "knock" sensor, too. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=120400871669
  12. Keep an eye on the SRT forums for sale section. I think they are 17x6, 5x100 and 45 offset. If you are not set on the SRT rims cause of the 6" width, add VW or Audi wheels to your search, they also share bolt and bore patterns with Chrysler/Dodge, and have more sizes to choose from. I run VW wheels on my PT.
  13. I only got one word for ya.......ZYMOL......(it smells like a vanilla milkshake too, but don't taste it!) Then again, you should probably use what they recommend. The worst thing about new leather is just like a new paint job, you gotta worry bout it all the time! Anyway, enjoy! those look awesome!
  14. Well, the rest of us can't even afford katzkin, so I'd say you did alright! So just how many people have sat in that passenger seat? You shoulda put a number counter on the door! Congrats, I've seen some seats done with their stuff....very nice!
  15. OTHER! 2 T15K's............. Oh wait, that's already been done by that Meade guy! Since I took the plunge and abandoned my loyalty to Hifonics, I am gonna say go Stetsom, are they not friendlier on electrical compared to Memphis?
  16. I stand corrected! maybe RF amps have a 'boost 'knob (????) My AQ amp has a remote 'gain' knob.
  17. What Steve uses in not an RCA level signal cut/reducer. He uses the remote gain controlers that come with his RF amps. I actually have both an RCA level reducer and the remote gain controller in my PT because I already had one when the other came with my new AQ sub amp. I mainly use the remote gain contoller, because it has more direct control. Right now I can get a 'soft clip' only on Jeezy's Hypnotize, and it is hard to reach the gain on the amp, so the knob works best for me!
  18. I say keep the sunroof then. If it gets to a point where you are gonna break it, then look to replace it. It's just like another door or hatch on the car, it's gonna flex in it's rubber seal. I don't see 6k watts tearing the metal roof or breaking the glass, so I would keep it.
  19. Is this going to be a competition only car, or do you need to drive it everyday? I'm pretty sure theat when the sunroof glass lifts, it's gonna cost you in SPL, but if its a daily driver, why not keep the roof and enjoy it once in a while.
  20. MDF rings can be used to add structure for the rear speakers. The rest can be solved with sound deadener.
  21. Here's how I prioritized my PT. Floor, then doors and gate, if gate takes a beating, double up on it. If you run an aftermarket muffler, double up on the floor over it! Get one layer on the floor doors and gate, then use whatever you have left to do the roof, or double up on the floor.
