lvl 3 subs getting stinky
moh.vze.com replied to zigzag420's topic in DC Sound Lab - Big Bass on ANOTHER LEVEL!
^ Make sure to check your headunit that bassboost is off. Everytime you disconnect your battery, the damn HU goes back to stock settings with bassboost auto on. I've also noticed another weird thing with my Kenwood headunit this: "Supreme" option was On and I had to go back and turn it off. Not sure wtf that option is for. -
Well I'm looking at the picture on http://www.audiosavings.com/products/Car-Battery-and-Power-Cells/XS-Power-XP3000-3000-Watt-Power-Cell-Car-Audio-Battery-Power-Stereo-System/XP3000.aspx and it doesn't look like it comes with any brackets for me to bolt down. Would I need to go to home depot and buy them? Direct me in the correct material needed for securing this battery in the trunk please
-
Since everyone will be buying a trunk battery soon, I figured it would be useful to have a topic on how to properly install a 2nd battery. I've read on google that having a battery in the trunk not properly secured is dangerous when you get into an addident. They say that it's possible for the battery to break through the back seat upon a collision. Also do I have to worry about ventilation for the battery? XP3000 to be specific. Post your suggestions please.

Putting my old 6.5''s in the rear deck... Will they drown?
moh.vze.com replied to moh.vze.com's topic in Mid's and highs
Meh. I just wanted an excuse to get that ppi p900.4 channel amp lol. Shiet, I'm just going to try the rear deck thing and if it doesn't work out, I'll have to try and find a way to put them in the back doors of my Camry or something. 1999 Camry. -
Hmm. It looks like I'll add the APK-5500 to my potential amp list for my next build after I get all my electrical done.

Disconect the negative on your battery It will save you the shocking moment of something sparking up when you accident short something out. Learn how to take your door panels apart and memorize where all the screws go. You can always refer to crutchfield.com 's how to take a part your door panel guide for specific vehicles.

Putting my old 6.5''s in the rear deck... Will they drown?
moh.vze.com replied to moh.vze.com's topic in Mid's and highs
Well, I figured I'd need my midbass/highs to be louder for when I upgrade my sub stage. I listen to mainly trance/dj remixes/euro dance/ dubstep / 90's gangsta rap/ to today's hiphop rap / to decaf stuff / bigpimpin93 / sometimes I listen to slow jams -
Putting my old 6.5''s in the rear deck... Will they drown?

Bleh. I'm just going to do it and hope the speakers don't sound like crap in the back. -
So, I'm slowly rebuilding my system. I've just contacted eDesignAudio to make me custom 6''x9'' baffles for my 6.5'' DLS MS6A speakers that are going to the rear deck of my Camry. I remember when I took out the stock 6x9's, the bass in my cabin increased 3 folds or so it seems like. I'm thinking about adding speakers in the rear deck, turn my sub box to shoot into the cabin with 1 seat folded down. Will my speakers still drown? Right now it's only 1200W RMS in the trunk, but in a few months they will be 5K watt RMS.

I know I said I was going to write a review for the SS Damp Pro application... so I've decided to just write a small one My thoughts: Words cannot describe how great my DLS MS6A sounds now. Everything sounds louder and not even muddy at higher volumes and low volumes. It's hard to believe that these are the same speakers I've been running in my front door since 2010. I've just bought a pair of Hybrid Audio Unity's for ~$300.00 and have yet to hook them up to take a listen to them in my new doors. I am almost hesitent to hook them up due to how unbelievable good my DLS MS6A sounds now. I wish I had applied sound deadening to my door earlier. I was not a believer of sound deadening for doors; I thought it was just a gimmick and a waste of money and time. I've went through 4 different speakers already and when I bought my DLS MS6A, I thought: "Hey maybe if I just drop 250$ on expensive speakers and my ride will sound better!", well it did sound better then my previous setup, but now with Second Skin Audio, it sounds fantastic. In conclusion, if you haven't already, take advice from this cheap Asian Guy and buy Second Skin Damp Pro and deaden your doors! P.S. I'm going to run these for a little longer and next week I'll install in the Hybrid Audio Unity's and run them off the same amp to see how things sound. In a couple of weeks I will hook up my new Precision Power P900.4 amp and move the DLS MS6A to the rear deck. Side Note: I wish the Damp Pro came with printed instructions of things to watch out for such as: "Don't deaden the holes at the bottom of your holes because it's for the rain to get out of your door". Other than that, the application was easy to apply I've used 50sq/ft of eDead vse2 before and that stuff was a pain in the butt to use. SS Damp Pro was a lot easier to use.

I just went out into my garage and looked under my door. It's all metal... As for SMD Member "Kickass Audio", I apprecrieate the detailed advice, but I don't comprehend and going have to reread it tomorow. My problem is, I don't want to break open that big seal because I worked too hard double layering that hole with Damp Pro. I've already used up all 30 sq/ft of my SS Damp Pro when I applied my baffle for the door speakers and added some more to my trunk lid earlier today.
