  1. Did you end up still wiring them with solid wire? If so, I'm ready to see how that turned out
  2. It does make it so much easier. It's a shame that some people just don't care about the people that have to come behind them and figure out the mess that they've made, but some honestly just don't care. Same thing with sytems, I'll have someone bring their vehicle to my house because something isn't working right and it will look like a rat's nest.
  3. I do electrical work and when I saw the green my mind said "ground" and then my OCD kicked in about circuit wire colors lol Yeah I know but it was all the Solid core wire I had sitting around to try!!! Didn't want to buy a roll of White & Blue and it not work out for me! LOL Then again the electrical work I do them colors wold tell me 24vdc or 120vac hot (Blue) and 120vac neutral (White) I guess audio stuff can be FLEXIBLE on the color's! LOL same here lol back when I was taking my motor controls class, people would always ask me why I used specific colors for specific voltages and controls and would ask if it really mattered. Everyone besides myself would use only one color, and a lot would use green for their power wires and their neutrals. It got on my nerves pretty bad lol

  6. 12k is a bridged amp.... two smaller boards.. I know chode runs his low.. but.... i wouldnt..... no way... its like bridging a amp half rated.... fuck that.. so you're saying that it would be like bridging at .5 ohm and each side would see .25 ohm?
  7. Few questions -have you ever ran an amp at .5 ohm -do you have the electrical to back it up -do you have a need to run it at .5 ohm
  8. If I understand what you saying then yeah it will work. It may just be a coincidence that the fixed ones have worked for me or maybe since they're Rockford Fosgate they are good quality. I don't really know, maybe someone else who knows a little more than I will chime in, but I think it would be worth a shot at least.
  9. I've had that happen once on an install where someone bought a crappy LOC (people buy whatever and then come to me to install it). Couldn't ever get the thing to work right, Idk if it's anything to do with them being adjustable, but I can only get the fixed output ones to work.
  10. I've only used the two channels, but I'm sure there won't be a difference. What kind brand vehicle are you putting it in?
  11. I've always had good luck with the Rockford Fosgate LOC, I've used two on new Fords and one on a newer Chevy. I don't like the ones with pots on them, didn't want to have to deal with them. Every time I've used the Rockford ones, I was able to find where the hu distorted at. Not saying, that LOCs are any substitute for a good hu, but I've had good luck with those. The ones I've used are the newer ones with the fixed output.
  12. Love those colors, really turned out great! and $5 for the bulb? Dang, that's cheap I think the local place in my town wants like $28 for a regular and like $48 for the flood light bulb

  14. Did you try this?Scanned over that, but I got everything to work! Plugged in the negative RCA instead of positive and I got the lights. Head unit doesn't distort also :-) the negative RCA ?... wtf does that mean ?Uh, not quite sure, I checked to see if I put the RCA's in the wrong spot on the back of the h/u, but they're all in the correct place, so. Im asking you dude. "Plugged in the negative RCA instead of positive and I got the lights" what does that mean ? you have a positive RCA cable, and a negative one ? Thats what im asking you by your comment... he's probably got red and black color coding on the RCA's and assumes red is positive and black is negative...Idk..just a theory Next time...... let me keep going.. thanks capt bring down.......... sorry man...gotta an itchy typing finger

  16. not downing on you or anything, but If I had of checked an didn't get a signal out of one rca's I would've checked the other one...
  17. To me it's worth the money. I mean hell I don't have the money, but let's say the ~$2200 price someone posted earlier was msrp (not saying it is but for arguments sake) if you compare that to the price of 5 D3100s at msrp then you've saved money. Not to mention you'd have 29 lbs. of battery vs close to 400 lbs. of batteries. To me, when you compare it, it's worth every penny assuming these hold up as well/better than agm batteries.
  18. you are going to need more than just one! Dang! Oh well looks like I'm not having kids lol.
