  1. In Steves defense, he has the capability of outputting 50 amps of current to each sub. So the 8 gauge is really the only safe bet. 8 gauge is good for a little more, but the length of the run becomes the real factor involved. 10 gauge would work too as long as the run is short enough. I'm running 8 gauge aswell, but I'm a firm believer in overkill if at all possible, when it comes to car audio
  2. You can put a Knukonceptz ( or the like ) battery terminal that has three 1/0 outs allowing for multiple runs. I would do a run of 1/0 from the alt to one of the ports on the terminal, then two runs from the terminal of front battery to the rear batts. If you get a battery terminal with a ring style hook up, you can run virtually as many cables that will fit if needed.
  3. He means, a run of power and ground in 4 gauge for each T4004 and a run of power and ground in 1/0 for each T 20001bd
  4. Isolate all your batts and let them sit unhooked overnight.Check em with a dmm first thing in the morning before you hook em back up to see if a batt is low. 12.45 volts is 75% charge, so too much below that isnt good. start the engine and check for alternator output Ideally at the alt output post, but batt post will work.If that is over 13.5 you should be good. Make shure your cable to post connections are tight because that will discharge a battery as good as anything will. If you have one low or bad batt connected with other batts in parallel, the lower or bad one will pull from the good ones, trying to equalize each other, and will slowly discharge all batts simutaneously
  5. ALot of people seem to having problems with or dislike the PG rsd. I personaly havent heard em, but that seems to be what's been going around last couple months. This is also hearsay on my part so, take it for what it's worth. I'm very happy with my components, but I'm also looking for others.
  6. I have a single 18'' setup and would do 2 if I didnt have to tote the kids everyday!
  7. As far as I'm concerned, those types can have their caps and 8gauge. Because you know as well as I, which one will get stomped at the next '' redlight bass off ''
  8. WARNING! DO NOT SEND TO CHODE,... IT WILL RUIN HIM HAHAHAHA LOL J/K CHODE
  9. i'm shure he has fun getting everyone else tipsy lol. Prolly cons people into playing aswell hahaha
  10. There is one detail that can be both good and bad with series wiring depending on how you look at it. Example: Lets say you have a single dual voice coil sub system ( one woofer ) wired in series. If something bad were to happen with one of the coils only, the sub will not play at all because there is only one path for current to flow in a series circuit. This is both (good) because it is a quick diagnosis of where or what the problem is. (Bad) because now you have no bass Parallel on the other hand, with the same problem as above, (one of the coils has a failure), You might not notice the reduced (spl) right away. Giving you a false sense of when the problem actually occured when you do realize there is something wrong with it, thus still being able to have some bass due to more than one path for current to flow Are you able to tell the difference in the way it sounds between a series wired sub vs a parallel wired sub,......not likely. All it does is give you flexibility in what load (ohm) you want to present to your amp
  11. I have a pair of 1/0 to 4 reducers. I'll use em eventually, maybe.Jonny, I was just joking brother, I know, no need to explain
  12. Performance wise, my 100.2 is the most impressive component amp I've ever had. Super clean & loud. This model came sooner than I thought. If I had know I would have just waited for this one as the only thing I care about is the heatsink change. I don't need the other features for myself, but the extra cooling will help next summer where we see 120F ocasionally. Maybe I can sell mine and get in on this pre-sale
  13. Too bad I have the 100.2, though I love it, I would like to have the matching heatsink to my 1500
  14. We wont get it till thanksgiving http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/mad.gifOh, by the way, got me a big tall glass of.................... chocolate milk
