Wiring questions
RainStryke replied to King.Chus's topic in XS Power Batteries / Chargers! (and other stuff too)
You have a lot more research ahead of you if you want to run multiple alternators. Since you have shown interest in mechman alternators, i'd recommend directing your questions here: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/forum/139-mechman-alternators-and-12v-accessories/ Doing a search on the forums shows that more than a few members have had similar questions on how to wire up multiple alternators. Just as mentioned before, you need to watch your amp draw, rather than watts. Knuconceptz shows their 1/0 gauge OFC wire is good for 375A draw and their CCA 1/0 gauge is good for 250A draw... Rockford Fosgate shows their 2500-1bd can draw up to 300A @ 13.8V. So you will need at least one run of 1/0 gauge OFC wire to support one 2500-1bd from them. They also recommend at least a 200A alternator for just the one amplifier. With multiple alternators, you are going to be running multiple runs of 1/0 gauge wire to keep up with the amp draw.- 10 replies

rattle trap

That's the way to go... That's pretty cheap for butyl based dampener. There are cheaper ones on the market, but they are cement based and do not hold up as good as the butyl based stuff. Wish I would of known that before I bought my stuff... Learned after I purchased 100FT³ of fat mat rattletrap XXX which is not butyl based. -

At first I wanted to say it kinda looked like a Sundown Audio SA series sub. But i'm thinking it's a Skar Audio DDX sub. -
Yeah, didn't really do what I expected. Not very good especially since you were giving it the full benefit of a doubt and pushing it a little past 14.4v. Most people looking to buy a cheap amplifier like that are probably going to be running it on stock electrical without the big 3 and are probably going to be getting something like 13.8v.

I'd run the 1 15" sub personally. One of those things where people expect to see a ton of subs in your car, they look in and see just one... and it's SLAMMIN'. I also like the aesthetics more. -
Is Mechman really the best?
RainStryke replied to a topic in MechMan Alternators and 12v Accessories
Singer, DC and Mechman seem to be the best. -
For all you know, Motorboat could be the owner of the car his buddy is driving. I pointed out hypocrisy. Aren't you putting the sub in your girlfriends car? http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/192714-specs-on-nvx-vc-12/#entry2882217 lol... So far it looks like half the winners are not even putting them in their own ride.I own it, want pics of the title? So gfy. & IF IT IS a problem, id be happy to send it back and have someone else have it. It was you that pointed out the rules. I was just joining in on the speculation. If I knew that information, wouldn't that of been a little creepy?
