  1. I'ts in and hooked up... I couldn't wait till my 0 ga ring terminals arrived... so I ran 1 single 0 ga to the battery to hear it...WOW... I haven't been into car audio since the late 90's but this thing blows away my setup with 2 100HC Audio arts pushin' 2 CV Stroker 15d2's... the LOWZ!... the output is amazing!..It's visceral!  I won't push too hard till my second power wire is hooked up to the battery but I couldn't help myself and put some 50-60 hz in just to try... BOOM!.. OW!

The old ear-o-meter was telling me that this was 150 easy with plenty to spare... the rearview mirror, which happens to be tight, pointed straight down in 2 seconds! These amps seem to have plenty of reserve at 2.66 ohms strapped... I'll post videos when I connect the second wire to the battery!

  2. Everyday a little closer...

    Almost there!

  3. Waiting on USPS as usual...

I'm waiting on USPS for my fiberglass door pods but I suspect the item went missing so I had to file a Dispute on the eBay seller :(

  4. Today I get to drop the subs in... still waiting on reducers to hook up the power.

I got cold feet wiring the amps down to .67 ohm... after I had the black one out

I started noticing something weird... It appears that the board is shifting in relation to

the heatsink... still works, so I'll only push it so hard this time 2.66 strapped

    should be enough... can't wait!

  5. Any ideas on covering the amp rack and trim panels... Box sits below window line so I need to keep it black/dark charcoal... My skills lean toward carpet, but I need to find some really thin stuff for flexibility. I don't want vinyl as I don't have a heat gun... Paint would be OK if I can figure out how to apply it evenly and not have it soak in! As I said carpet is more my skill set...

    Any ideas?

You should start a build log.

I've posted tons of videos while rebuilding this time on YouTube with the same username 1gggman1 I've been putting everything on public status updates... maybe I'm doin' it wrong... I'm new to this site and still figuring it out. I've documented the Blazer as a playlist on YouTube under Blazer build and have been probably too detailed on my videos... I'm tryin' to use the video editor and make it a little entertaining... I'm tired of cell phone videos that you have to turn your head sideways to watch!.. Lol... :)

      Take a look...

  6. Ready for the box... and interior...

Thankfully the kids have no school tomorrow, I hate putting up headliners by myself!

  7. Couldn't sit inside...

  8. Sunday is for rest...

  9. What a day! Covered in grime... Dual 0 ga runs put in under car... Last 2 hours spent on my back with the

apartment sprinklers filling the gutter I was layin' in!.. UUgh! what a mess, I am thankful that i have some

orange type hand cleaner handy (1 gallon) and I',m sure that my shirt is history!

The things we do for audio! 0 GA run, ANL fuse holder mounted, speaker wire /w/ heavy terminal installed

and faux double baffle cut and ready for carpet... Good Day!

    I was a busy boy!..

    Can't Wait!..

  10. Slowly comin' together...

    Title says it all!

Am stuck waiting for wire... FedEX has missed me twice, funny, I don't work live in a small apt, and keep the windows open all day (AZ weather)... I'm beyond my limit! If the dumbass delivery guy would just knock...

Lol... I'm finding missed delivery door tags on the sidewalk 30 minutes after he was here... I am 25 feet away with the windows open! Put a little effort in, will ya'!

  11. It was a huge day here... amp and Subs arrived... box surgery day! Tried to use old box for RE SCX and adapt it for the Skar Evl 12's... bigger airspace more port and doing it by extending the old box. Success... It turned out well... Needs to be joined and covered but will sound great I'm sure. Amp rack and dual runs 0ga tomorrow which will be a bitch for me in my state... but it has got to get done!

Can't seem to post video... Blazer build on youtube... channel 1gggman1... playlist Blazer build...

OOPS.. I seem to have managed to post it after all... I know it's ugly but I am progressing certainly and will continue to improve with time. Mom's taxi will be subbin'!

  12. Got some pics of the rebuild performed by myself (disabled)... Been tryin' to fix the shoddy job I did at first when I was only 4 months after a major stroke. I'm no wizard at beautifying to begin with but I'm taking my time and trying to do it presentable. The sound should be more than 1 step above what I had... hopefully. The Skar Audio EVL 12's arrived and they are even more impressive than their pics. Got my second CAB 1600.1 as well... had to go to facebook "car audio bargain" to be sure of how to wire up the speakers... Funny... my old 50M Fosgates did not need a ground between the two amps from negative to negative speaker terminals... good thing I looked... the manual says shit! Deaden the car Friday hopefully and finish up by Sunday if all goes well... I can't wait! Later on tonight I'll post pics as I am only pausing to let the drill/saw batteries recharge.

  13. I will be upgrading her Blazer...@ CAB 1600.1's slaved mono @ .67 ohm... check out those numbers! I know what 1 amp will do so...lets see what 2 will do! I am tryin' to save money as usual but I'm sure I'll end up buying expensive batteries eventually! I know it always takes power to make power! But I'm praying!

I am deadening the Blazer as well as I can without putting MDF in place of the headliner... 8 cans of Great stuff to fill the voids and 1 gallon of GT mat liquid on everything should do it... I hope... I will probably end up matting the car anyways!

My mids and highs will be upgraded as well... I'm just not sure of what direction I'll go with... Podded door panels with multiple drivers or a single set of really good components.

The subs are the showpiece... aren't they always? For this I selected Skar Audio EVL-12" D4/ 3 drivers...

I know that these will move some serious air as they have 23mm xmax and the price is right!.. $199 each... they say the price is goin' up soon, DC level 4 performance for currently under $200!..  Mine are currently in transit!.. I jumped on this as soon as I saw it!

The enclosure will be 2 ft3 per with dual 3" ports tuned to 32hz e@.. That should do the job I think!

A 250A alternator with dual batteries will hopefully be sufficient to feed this setup while running! Ive paid particular attention to interconnect and wire this time as I feel that this will be astounding for 3 12" subs!

Watch my videos as the build progresses over the next 2 weeks!

I hope it turns out well!

I've had the amp at .67 ohm for a year and no problems whatsoever... must have gotten a good one!

Normally I do stick to the specs but after seeing the tests and feeling the actual power of these things...

Now I'm gonna' chase numbers... I'm hooked again!

I've had expensive old school high quality cheaters before and believe me I wouldn't try this unless I'd seen it first!

My Fosgate 50M's and Audio Art 100HC's were only run at or slightly below minimum impedances... they cost me a lot in 1997 dollars the 50M's were $500 ea and the 100HC's were two for $1000.

I'm kinda seeing what happens with these... the results are incredible so far and I live in Phoenix. Last year had a record number of days at or over 100 degrees and I run my equipment hard but smart. No thermal problems whatsoever and I had a single battery with stock electrical... so I'm sure I starved the amp's power supply repeatedly.
