im a fan of pioneer for source and jbl for power/sound but audiocontrol overall, i dont even have any of their stuff in my ride, but on slow days i'd read manuals just so i know product like the back of my hand audiocontrol has the best manual ever. not in car audio, not in electronics, in the entire friggin world. gems like "do not get wet, incinerate, deep fry, or saute" "this device features a 21 band 1/3 octave eq, if you do not know what that means, please pack it back in the box and return it to your authorized audiocontrol dealer" every manual has like 20 or 30 silly little jokes in it, i love it. not to mention all the stuff works like its supposed to, and works forever flawlessly, i dont think i've ever seen a single audiocontrol piece be returned or warranteed.

if its foward and sealed from the trunk, doing the trunk lid wont really do much rattle hunt first, put a piece on the back of ur license plate, find those pieces of bumper that rattle, stuff like that throw a solid layer on the roof and test it, if it still flexes too much for you, do another layer i'd recomend doing the doors too, it does make a nice differencem especially if your speakers are mounted in stock locations, or you drive a car where theres tincans on hinges with a window motor where a door should be. Give you a nice authoratative thump when you close the door, keep the music in and the roadnoise out. its a definite difference. and dont worry about the floor, thats a step too far imo, and most cars have stock deadening there anyway

over 1000 id say is where to consider alt or batts it really depends, my buddy got a crown vic interceptor and it came with a 180 amp alt, all he needed was a new batt up front to run 2krms my car needed a batt and alt to get 1500 running it matters case by cass, but somewhere around 1000-2000 watts you should conssider batts and an alt and as for the whole 16v thing, please, dont do it. yes it seems simple, yes you *could* do it, jut dont. its a bad idea, a very very bad idea. Especially if its one of your first systems, or you're like in highschool trying to be the big baller in the parking lot. chicks dont dig dudes with rides that catch fire, or burn out every bulb and relay.

ive always used butyl...you can buy it in like a rope, i just roll it out like .2 inches thick, place it all around the hole, put the sub iin and screw it down. non permanent, reusable, and works great. may be messy though

if you feel like being creative with the wood, maybe a 3'face box, where the sub is the center, annd parallel to the rear, and the subs are sloped back, and then come to sides perpendicular to the rear, im sure i described that shitty, just think of those curved triple boxes. port to the side should be fine though. SQ wise i'd image it to be near indescernable, it just may meter a little higher or lower.

i heard good things bout the dre's but dead ass ive had the same pair of 29$ sonys i got at bestbuy for a good 5 years now, they sound great, fit great, have strong bass and highs (once you cut the little paper restrictor out, hint hint), and are pretty comfortable to boot. i was thinking the 1200-1500 dollar range...assuming you're also going to be installing it and charging separately for installation/woofers/finishing the time you're going to invest cutting/glueing, designing...and then a few sheets of mdf, bottles of glue, nails...make it worth it to yourself

get a hook tool, slide it in basically level and centered, but pushed up (so it slides over the cd), twist it so the point pokes down on the cd and move around until you find the hole, then pull it out i've done it sooooooo many times when stock cd players die on customers and they want the cd back, or children stick like 4 in there second one from the right is basicallly what i use
