  1. Not only the system, but his kids too? Oh well, I guess internet posers are here to stay.
  2. You do know that ubid is an Authorized internet dealer of Kicker products?
  3. I just saw six Kicker ZX2500.1 on uBid.com. The starting bid was at $1 and I believe the current bid highest bid is $291 with a buy it now price of $534. So there's an option there.
  4. Thanks for the replies guys. Sounds like some of you guys have brought from wheelsnext.com so I at least know that they're reputable. I've been saving money every since I brought the truck back last April so I think I have enought to buy offline. I'm still gonna go around to a few local shop here in STL to see if I could get a better deal. I just wanted to keep my options open. I know when I was looking around last fall the prices were way way to high for compared to what I was seeing online.
  5. Combined the wife and I got back close to $3500..... we both took a grand a piece to do with what we want and the rest went into the savings for a down payment on our first home. As for what I'm gonna do with my returns....I'm trying to put shoes on the burban. Once I have shoes then I can finish the stereo.
  6. Hey Aaron, Have you ever brought rims and/or tires from this site before? I'm trying to hear from those who have brought from online. I want to hear what their experience was like buying rims from an online store as opposed to buying local.
  7. I understand paying $6k for some solid 26s, but what I'm saying is that if I buy locally I would be paying more like $9 -$12k for some 26s. I can do $6k...barely, I just don't want to if I don't have to. I'm not quite sure I follow you on freight, could you shed some more light on that?
  8. I just got my fed returns back and I'm really close to my rim and tire budget. So I want to get some good rims for a decent price, yet the only problem is I don't know where to buy them from. I've been looking every where from www.wheelsnext.com , www.superbuytires.com,www.DiscoutWheels.com, and eBay. I've never brought anything from the internet that cost this much before, so I want to hear from those who've brought wheels and tires offline. How was the experience? Would you do it again? Who did you use? What steps should I take in buying rims from the internet, so that I can insure that I'm not gonna get screwed out of my money? The reason why I'm not trying to go to a local shop is because the prices here are ridiculous. For instance one shop I went to wanted $4k for a set of 22' TIS rims without the tires. I'm trying to do either 24s or 26s for my suburban, and if 22s cost $4 - $6k then I know that the sizes I'm looking for will be way more expensive.
  9. Looking for a decent MM4000.1D that can be shipped to the 63010 zip code.
  10. Man I can't wait to get my system in my truck. If I could just be half as loud as you are steve I'd be satisfied. Wife is an AuD so there no way in hell she let me do a 160 db+ system. But what she doesn't know won't hurt her....I'll just keep it turned down when she's in the truck....LOL.
  11. This sh!t was pure garbage. If your into the whole Blaire Witch type of movie then this is for you. Myself and about 90% of the audience in the theater with me tonight thought that we could have did better with the $9 we spent on tickets......Well $18 I spent cause I took the wife with me. This was by far the worst movie I've seen in a theater in quite a long time....(Date Movie ) They spent most of the time filming the damn ground....the guy holding the camer is annoying as f'ck and the.....(I'll call it thing) you didn't see much of. I forgot to add this....... The movie was so bad that people where leaving the movie right in the middle of it. Now that's what I call a bad bad movie.
  12. Wow...I had already known about the caskets, but didn't know about the Eclipse or U.S. Amps products that they sale.
  13. Okay as it stands right now I'm trying to decide on who to go with when it come to running a 2nd alternator for my truck. So I'm deciding between Dave DC Electric and Dom Iraggi. Here is the low down on my options Dave Dual Alternator Kit will include: - 1 300-250 amp AD224alternator (claims to do 130 amp at idle due to the 1.8inch drive pulley) - 1 dual alternator mounting bracket designed to fit a 2007 suburban - New belt for the alternators, relays, and regulator harness - Detailed instructions on how to install and test the alternators - About two weeks wait time Quoted $660 which includes shipping cost. Iraggi Alternator Kit will include: - 1 300 amp alternator (suppose to do around 100 -110 amps at idle) - 1 dual alternator mounting bracket designed to fit a 2007 suburban - Wires, belt, and harness not included - About two weeks wait time Quoted $530 which includes shipping cost. I'm leaning more towards the DC Electric kit because it comes with additional materials that I would need, such as the newer drive belt and wiring harness. Not to mention that it will come with instruction on how to properly do this. This will be my first time installing dual alternators so any guidance I can get will be helpful. The only problem is that beside the article I found on Car Audio and Electronics, I haven't heard of anyone using Dave DC Electric company before. I have no feed back to on the quality of their product. With Iraggi, I know that his product is out there with a number of people that can vouch on the quality of his alternators. The price including the group buy here at SMD is right, the only issue is that I would have to go and buy a lot of additional items in order to make this work. Since the truck is so new, I'm almost sure that some of these items I'm gonna have to get from a dealer($$$$). So this is were I'm at right now. I want to make a decision soon because I plain on ordering tomorrow afternoon. You guys have any input to share before I make my decision? Anything I may be over looking? In other words, if this was your decision, who would you go with and why?
  14. My top 3 things I have to do before I die: 1) 3sum.......I'm sorry but I have to have this as my number 1 goal. 2) Have a child. I want to be a father and so having kids is something I'm gonna look forward to. both my wife and I should make pretty f'kin cool parents. 3) To own at least one of the following vehicles in my lifetime (1968-1969-970 Dodge Charger or 1971-1972 Plymouth RoadRunner/GTX). My tucks or Dodge/Chevy but when it comes to muscle I'm strictly MOPAR.
  15. You sure about that one chief? I looked at the video and it looks like you had more than just your two front doors open. You're not counting your gullwing rear doors as open in that video? Edit: After a second viewing of your vid I did see that your front passanger door was closed but I couldn't tell about the rear passager one. So I stand corrected......maybe?
  16. Damn, I guess I'm the only one here that uses 3 monitors Sorry for the crappy picture but I had to use my good ole trusty cell phone to take a picture. This is of course my work desk but it gets the job done a lot more efficiently than when I was working with just one. WHat you see here is two Dell 19' monitors and in the center is a ViewSonic 20, running off a matrox video card.
  17. Update: I called my Chevy dealer to find out if they carried a dual alternator bracket setup for my truck and I also wanted to know how adding an additonal alternator would affect my warranty. I was told that the only dual alternator bracket that they carry is for their diesel engine trucks only, which was something I knew already I was just hopeful that they made one for the V8 engines. Guess not. Anyway I was told that if I kept the second alternator totally independent from the factory charging system that it shouldn't void my warranty. He said that the new GM are really flaky when it came to aftermarket electronics interacting with the ecu and that if I could get the second alternator to charge just the additional batteries without needing to interact with the ecu then I should be good to go. My question is how in the hell do I do this? Would I need to get an external regualtor for the second alternator then, since I can't really have it attached to the trucks ecu? Could I use a toggle switch to turn on the second alternator? Man I'm more confussed now that I was yesterday. Oh yeah, I've sent and email to Iraggi about this too. Just in case someone wanted to bring them up. Still waiting on an answer.
  18. That what I was thinking as well. With the ecu controlling everything electrical I didn't want to chance getting a big single alternator that wouldn't work as well because of the computer conflicting with it. The only thing that is holding me back from going dual right now is that I don't know how it will affect my warranty when it comes time to getting the truck worked on. I've been searching the net for any info I can on getting a dual setup on my suburban without happering my warranty and right now I can't find anything concreate.
  19. I'm kind of in the same boat you're in right now. I'm trying to decide if I should go the dual alt route or just do a single 300amp alt for my truck. The 07 I believe are using 4 guage right as far as power cabling is concern so stepping up to a big 3 might help with the dimming. If you do the B3 then I would suggest using bigger guage cabling. Over at cheverloteforum.com the have some folks running dual batteries off the single 160a alternators right now but if you know your gonna run more than 2 batteries then i think you may want to look into getting a bigger alternator as well. Just my .02 on it. I plan on running around 4500 - 5000k for my audio and I still can't find much information on people running multiple alternator setups on the newer chevy trucks.
  20. Is there anyone here that's running an Iraggi alternator on either a 2007 or 2008 Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon?
  21. I have an 07 LT Suburban, which come standard with a 160amp alternator. I was thinking about running a dual alternator system for my truck because I'm about to install a hi-powered audio system in the truck. We're talking well over 4k watts. So what I want to know is how can I setup a dual 200 to 300amp alternator setup that will not kill my warranty? If there is no way to do that then is there a way I can get a 300 to 400amp single alternator that will work with the new 07 suburbans?
  22. Nice build he has. I want to do something like minus 2 of those subs and the wall of course. I would like to see his truck in action though, just to see how those SOLO's move. This is by far a better system than his old RF/Audiobahn setup in the jeep.
